Not choking on the big plastic eggs themselves, but the toys that come IN the eggs, which are in little pieces and need to be put together.
Okay, that makes more sense, although it's still stupid. It's written right on the box that the toys are a choking hazard, after all. Just exercise a bit of caution in regards to the toy and the kid'll be fine.

And fireheart, you lucky devil. I'm so jealous!

In addition, there are a few places around which sell lollies imported from the US and UK, but they're somewhat expensive compared to other shops. Possibly because they're imported lines. It's stuff like Reeses Pieces, Hershey Bars (although a fair few petrol stations carry them and my uni does as well), M&Ms in weird flavours, Fantas in awesome flavours (grape soft drink *drool*),Twizzlers, Nerds in flavours we don't get in Australia normally, Milky Way Stars, Big Red gum....that's all I can remember right about now.

The only other imported lolly I know we get is the Haribo brand, which are also awesome

Ditto on the Crystal Pepsi. I loved that stuff.

And when did McD's ever have pizza??? More info, please??!

I remember when I was a kid in the late 80s/early 90s I saw these commercials for microwave popcorn that could pop in different colors, like pink and blue. I never tried it but I'm curious if anyone else heard of it.

They had pizza in the 90's. At least, in Canada they did. I'm not sure if the U.S. had it for a similar time, or a shorter/longer time. Any U.S.ian's know for sure?

I don't recall ever seeing it at any of the ones in my area......come to think of it, anyone remember when McD's offered (not sure if they still do) a veggie burger? I remember getting one over in California, but none in my area ever had it on the menu.

I remember McPizza, but I don't recall ever eating it.

In the mid-nineties, McDonald’s decided to go into the pizza business; the resulting pizza was bland (like much of McD’s food offerings), and most people who actually wanted pizza went to a pizza place like they always had. The company and its frachisees were left on the hook for expensive new ovens and widened drive through windows that weren’t needed. Even saturation marketing wasn’t enough to change the pizza habits of ordinary Americans, and McPizza was gradually abandoned, and generally forgotten. Why did this product fail? In short, people didn’t associate McDonald’s with pizza and they could get better pizza elsewhere.

Pizza / McPizza – McDonald's has also attempted pizza at various times, with an apple-pie–like McPizza and more conventional McDonald's Pizza. A line of personal-sized pizzas was first seen in the late 1970s in test-market stores near interstate highways around Milwaukee and Madison. In Canada (c. 1992–1999), the pizza originally began as a family-sized pizza that was brought out to the table by an employee and placed on a raised rack in the centre of the table. Later it was scaled down to a personal-sized pizza. However, variations have found their way into some international markets such as India (the pie-like "Pizza McPuff"). McDonald's also test marketed a 14-inch, round, traditional-style pizza in Evansville, Indiana, and nearby Owensboro, Kentucky, in 1989.[23] By 1991, the McDonald's test markets for pizza had grown to over 500 McDonald's locations before the pizza test was placed on hold. Pizza is still sold at three McDonald's locations in Orlando, Florida, Spencer, West Virginia, and New Haven, Connecticut.

I wish Coke would make Coke with splenda or stevia that tastes like Coke. Diet Coke with splenda is nasty to me, I want regular Coke taste.

Also, I wish there were sugar free gums and mints made with splenda or stevia.

I'm allergic to aspartame (neutra sweet), so I'm really limited in gum selection.

Cheetos Flamin' hot. But according to fritolay's website, some stores do carry it.
Mine does. Well, the little bags. I can't seem to find Almond Roca anywhere, except rarely at Christmastime. I also miss Otter Pops. They are still available sometimes, but there are no longer pictures of the otters on the pops. I loved those as a kid.

Josta soda. I still remember the panther on the label and how delicious it was. First guarana soda I ever had. Yummy. I also miss Plush Pippin (restaurant/bakery chain) that went out of business, their food was yummy and they had delicious pies for sale too. Oh! And I also miss chocolate Coke, which a retro diner near me used to offer until they went out of business and were bought out by people who took it off the menu.

Things I don't miss? Skipper's Seafood Restaurants. You should NEVER combine fast food and seafood.

Oooh, I could go on forever!

                      In the 1980s:
Uncle Ben's had a curried rice that was really curried. It had a god bite. The company still offers curried rice but it isn't nearly as edgy as it once was.

                      In the 1970s:
Progresso offered hot and sweet spaghetti sauces. These were simple sauces but you could always add more ingredients. The sweet was fine for little children but the hot was the perfect base for a Fra Diavolo.

                      In the 1960s:
There was the Cheezza. This was a frozen four cheese pizza with a buttery crust and no tomato sauce.
There was also the Oh Boy frozen sandwich. This was made with salami, ham and cheese on a hero roll. You heated it in the oven and it came with a packet of wonderful mustard.
Also in the 60s there were the Howard Johnson frozen croquettes. These were available in chicken or shrimp and came with delicious sauces.

                      In the 1950s:
Ragu offered a big jar of pre-cooked pasta shells in sauce. I'm sure if I ate it now I'd hate it but it was just the best thing for lunch after a morning of sledding or snowball fighting.
Cott made the world's best ginger ale. It had a sharp ginger flavor and wasn't very sweet.

In closing, I have a guilty confession to make. I used to love Nathan's chow mein on a bun.
Please note that this was a true abomination unto the Lord. It was a gluey, canned vegetable chow mein scooped on a sweet, puffy hamburger bun. No, there was no soy sauce.
Still even now, when we visit Coney Island, or even when I read about the place, I can taste that in my mind and I get nostalgic.

very very shortlived pepsi blue as their attempt to compete with the coke vanilla or twist of lemon/lime etc. i think but then coke moved their vanilla and coke with lemon to the other countries and gave us twist of lime which was nice but that was taken away as well
and pepsi blue was out for a few weeks and then poof gone

i just recall it used to be sold in the 20 oz for a short while then gone
i dunno. but then for a while alot of food and drink products started going towards a certain ethnic group - which was fine it was just interesting to see what flavors they attempted - and i wondered why they stopped

I love Vanilla Coke, luckily 7-11 around here as fountain drinks you can add your own flavors to Hubby went to get me a vanilla coke and forgot what he put in, so he added cherry to it also. It wasn't bad.

Hubby would also love to have the McRib back

I too have problems with aspartame, and would love to see more sodas/candies with alternate sweeteners. Diet Rite has some pretty good sodas sweetened with Splenda (I quite like the Tangerine and Black Cherry flavors).
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

re: peanut butter M&Ms....I can buy pound bags of them locally.

re: regular coke sweetened with something OTHER then aspertame....AMEN!!!! I'm SEVERELY allergic.

re: trix cereal....yes I can find that too....

whats sad is that I like so many different foods I couldn't tell you whats no longer in production that I miss enough to want it to come back.

Wow, I'm not the only person on the planet who wants Josta back!

I remember having the colored microwave popcorn; it wasn't bad. Can't remember what it was called though.

                                I really miss:
--Jello Pudding Pops. The new ones (when I can find them) just aren't the same somehow.
--TMNT Pies. When we lived in VT there was a truckstop somewhere off I-89 that we nicknamed "the junk stop" and mom would always get me a few when she had to go down to Boston
--HiC Ecto Cooler. There's a project on a GB forum to find a perfect substitute; so far no dice.
--Crispy M&Ms. They came in a blue bag like the new Pretzel ones, but had a bit of biscuit/cookie in the middle. Those were superior to the pretzel ones IMO.
--Trader Joe's used to carry a frozen gumbo bowl that was pretty darn good; I never could get an answer as to why they discontinued it around here.
