May I ask what this bizarre history entails?

Australians are drawn to me for some inexplicable reason. If there's an Australian anywhere within 3 blocks, I will somehow encounter them. On the street, on transit, doesn't matter. Seriously, a random ICQ message from Australia once ended with one sleeping on my couch for a couple days in Canada.

I don't know how they find me. I must give off some sort of scent only they can detect.

Wow. Paul won. It did come down to him and Will. I thought for sure Will would win. He's a better leader, as good a chef, and I thought he'd been really clever when he manipulated Carrie onto Paul's team after Paul picked Elsie. Poor guy had a terrible service.

At least Will was gracious about it. And Elise was surprisingly professional during the service.

Best part was Ramsey telling her she'd have such a great future if she could just stop being a bitch

Yeah that was a hell of a surprise to see Paul come through the door. He did do a good job leading his team, he's got some definite creativity when it comes to coming up with menu items, and I really like why he was going it.

i'm pleased to hear that Paul won. He sorta grew on you as you went. Will's been consistent, but that's it. It's always about the POTENTIAL rather than whether they're any good from the start.

ETA, now after actually WATCHING the episode, here's my points:

-Oh dear lord, I feel sorry for Elise's husband. Not to mention that woman actually spawned a child....
-Paul reuniting with his brother was hilarious
-Tommy and his girlfriend....O.o she seriously did not look 19. I had to laugh at Chef telling Tommy to stop!
-WTF is Serrano ham?

-I think the only thing missing from Paul's comment was "babes." The line? "Beer, bro, hotdogs and baseball".
-Paul was really humbling during his time on the pass and I think had one of THE best one-liners ever: "You win some, you lose some. It's how you bounce back that makes you a great chef." (or at least that's the gist of it)
-9 Seasons and Chef Scott still can't stop the bad acting when he does the quality control. (it's quite hilarious to watch though)

I love Chef Scott so much it's ridiculous. I always squeal like a fangirl whenever he shows up on Kitchen Nightmares, and I LOVE it when he gets in a contestant's face. Seriously. I really miss Jean-Phillipe though. James just isn't the same. SIGH. They need to get that crazy Belgian back on the show!

Chef Scott is like a feral dog Ramsay keeps around to guard the place while he's not there. Every now and then it gets off its leash and chases one of the neighbourhood kids around. -.-

Elise's tears will sustain me for weeks however.

But yeah, something is missing without JP around.

The rumour mill has said that there's a chance he could be back for Season 10. The whole reason why he was moved in the first place was because Petrus was re-opening and he's the maitre'd there.

Can anyone place James's accent? It doesn't sound American to me.

And I hate you all...cause the DB can't watch it on tv we have been watching through hulu together and I promised to not watch any episodes without him...

But soooo happy to hear Elise lost and cried...

As much as I dislike Elise (and I do - boy, how I do) I do have to give her props for being professional and actively working to help Paul.

I also like how Elise handled herself in the finale. Paul actually seemed to play to their strengths as well: while everyone else had their sections, he had Elise on appetizers, which he KNEW she could do, then just merely helping out afterwards, rather than running a section.
