Yeah that was what inspired my post about redemption

Surprisingly the black team did pretty well apart from Elise.

And from that last, apparaently Van's become a sous chef/executive chef, Trev has become a private chef, Ben has become a restaurant consultant (?), Jillian a hotel chef and Tenille is a sous chef...

I think they keep Elise around just to piss us off! God! I hate that "How dare you be better than me look" she gives when someone else gets praise on a challenge dish.

Agreed. I enjoyed seeing Tenille again; I thought she was pretty good and she didn't piss me off the way Elise does. Put Elise in her place too, with the body bag comment.

I really liked Jillian. She's still pretty nice and sweet. Trev is still a moron. Van must have given up trying to cook fish

I liked Tenille and Jillian being back. Tenille could be annoying with the way she shouted all her comments during her interviews, but that's NOTHING compared to Elise.

I swear, I am honestly surprised no one there has snapped and tried to stuff her in the oven or something.

I so wanted the returning contestants to kick their asses, just so Elise would go home. I am amazed she didn't. Apparently, so were a lot of her fellow contestants, judging from their facial expressions.

She would feel validated regardless. She's simply incapable of percieving the viewpoint of any other human being. The only upside is she proved instantly to the blue team that she was the problem on the red team the entire time. So they're going to put her up on the block every episode until she's finally gone.

Tommy just might go first. He really is very weak, even if he is pleasant. But I doubt the team will be able to take his scatter brainedness much longer.

Either way, I cannot remember any contestant on a cooking show I have hated more or, more to the point, has been so horrible, wrong, vindictive, egotistical, self-obsessed, narcissistic, or self-aggrandizing.

Shit, Top Chef Season 2's Marcel just called me to tell me he thought Elise was way over the top and completely out of control.

I don't really watch the show, but apparently they know what they are doing . If people are getting this worked up over a contestant, it is only a good thing..because that means people are watching the show. Most likely why that contestant is still around.

From a tv perspective, yes.

From a cooking perspective, absolutely NOT.

And yes, I know this is tv. But it is a tv show that is supposed to reward someone who is a good chef, a good cook. And Elise....is not. After all, the word chef, from what I understand, actually translates as "leader." And she is anything but.

Then again, I have to fault the entire group. All five chefs that were in the final five, as a group, were remarkably unimpressive. As one of the diners remarked, don't you think the final five would have had the dinners out a bit sooner? This is the worst final five I have seen in my limited viewing of the show.

Absolutely pathetic.

Perhaps Elise really DOES belong.

I have noticed that in the past few seasons, they will keep around one person that everyone is screaming to please send home because they are annoying/inept.. Such as Sabrina or Trev .

But Elise really takes the cake..
