    • Mother Nature is bi-polar or something. It's been cool and rainy here all day...supposed to snow in the morning, and next week? Temperatures in the 50s. O.o Uh...What? Well hell...Welcome, Spring, I guess! ETA: I just heard a couple rolls of thunder. Interesting.

      • I woke up a couple of hours ago just to peek outside, and we had a light coating of snow, but now we have about an inch of snow but getting covered in tons of freezing rain and sleet.

I went out for a smoke and my porch is all slick and slushy.

        • Sleet here. Not going to be very much fun driving home in it.

A drenching with a full ice chest sounds in order... half ice, half water... and a couple of pounds of salt on the ice.

A few things I should point out here:

                1. We all know that that ice chest is going to be for food and drink for you two.

                2. Despite living in Key West, I WILL be able to respond INSTANTLY with a fully-formed snowball. Yes, I said snowball. "But Jester, how is that possible?" Well, does anyone here really doubt my ingenuity?

                3. No one here can outbid me. They can offer you all kinds of things to hit me with a slushball or two. However, not one of them can offer you what I can...showing you around the magical island that is Key West, not just as you being a typical tourist, but as you being a visitor with a well-known longtime local as your guide. How is anyone here going to be able to top THAT?

A big enough vehicle WILL accomodate multipule coolers full of food, ice water AND snow

On thread though it snowed hard for a couple of hours then turned to nothing. The roads are slush (HMMMM slush balls)

                  • They lowered then raised the snow prediction for us multiple times now.

All I know is, all night, the winds have roared and my building has been shaking, the windows and pipes rattling, and that god awful noise of sleet pounding on my porch has been just irritating me.

                      • Not quite that far north.

We were originally (days ago), but then it went down to 4-8, down to 2-4, down to 1-3, back up to 2-4, now to 4-8 again.

They can't make up their damn minds. But then again, with the temperature fluctuating and it switching and off to freezing rain and back to snow, it'll be hard to say what the end result is. We were at 1.2 inches as of 6 pm, but I'm sure that's at least tripled by now.

                        • We got pretty lucky. We were supposed to get 10-12 overnight. We only got 4. We're supposed to get another 4 today.

Considering the original forecast, we caught a break.

                              • Ya know, as bad as it sounds, I've been known to say that I wish we'd have severe storms instead of blizzards.

Dad's coming to get my car out. He's going to laugh and probably be pissed about it, though. I should have known better than to do that, much less continue to romp on the gas and try to get it to move.
