Gah. As I suspected, I gotta bow out this year. A combination of financial issues and the need to move, which was caused by them. The next two months will be really busy for me. Argh. Next year, then!

Do I need to opt-out via the cardlist or is this good?
You need to go back to the cardlist page, click on 2012 Christmas Card Exchange, and there should be a link that says "opt out of this list" or something to that effect.

Just an FYI for others; there is one person that did not show up on the last pep squad list of participants (technical issues), so add one. But with Eric bowing out, it all evens out. Thanks.

You have 3 days if anyone else wants out!

      • Just opted-out. I could probably squeeze the cards in, but I decided I didn't need to worry about the cards on top of everything else this year.

          • That's just it -- I get the two thread links, post tallies, and view tallies. I don't see an opt out (one link says opt out before the 8th but it just takes me to post #1 in this thread)

            • EricKei, click the link that says "2012 Christmas Card Exchange." It's the top left one of the cluster. From that page, you can choose to opt out.

              • You should be able to click on "2012 Christmas Card Exchange" (first link on the same line as "Tally Up" and "View Tallies") and it'll take you to a similar screen but with options to edit your address and "opt out of this list" underneath the dates (with the list of people and their country locations below that but I cropped that out of my screenshot).

                • OK, it worked now. Oddly enough, I could not get back to the page shown in my screenie. Weird.

Oh well. More glitter for next year. Do you think the post office will accept envelopes if the addresses are written out in glitter? >_> The stuff just spontaneously filters out of the air here, I swear.

                  Muhahahahahahahaha

OK, good (well, not good, but, y'know). Kara said she couldn't see that link at all when she first logged in. Weird.

Just double checked the list and I don't see you anymore.

                    I think I'm sparkling already...

                        • I had to opt out. My financial situation is worse then I thought and with roomie move within a month it'll be worse. At least I have cards for next year.

                            ...
That glitter gets into the machines, spreads to other mail, and a lot of times makes the addresses unreadable. Especially if the envelopes get wet it makes it even harder. Again... DO NOT use glitter to make the addresses on the card. I was trying to be nice before.

                              • As good news, I will have the finances to participate... the bad news is that my address isn't changing
Oh well, my landlord may finally make good on her perennial promise to sell this place out from under me come the new year and even if I am in the same county, I can at least be not living in a basement apartment in a craptacular neighborhood
