    Holy crap!

And was that a person scurrying past the building right at the beginning of the video??

We're feeling the effects all the way in Kentucky. The wind is howling right now and I think I hear rain hitting the windows. Lexington is supposed to get snow from this system. Those of you in the more direct path of the storm, please stay safe.

Gulf coaster here -- You all have my most profound sympathies and best wishes for your safety and (relative) sanity (dealing with SC's does take its toll, after all)...

I've been through the warm-weather equivalent of this stuff more than once, sometimes staying, usually leaving. It seems to me that the latter would have been really difficult for this one, tho, given its massive size x.x Just think of Sandy as the ultimate SC. Big, loud, destructive, no sympathy whatsoever, and she's gonna leave behind a HUGE mess. But, at least, once she's gone, she really won't ever come back!

        Be well!

Update from the Ohio Valley, very windy, heavy rain mixed with snow.

Last update I got from Little Bits last night was that they were getting heavy snow. I got a message from the college this morning that all classes were cancelled.

Central PA here (not too far from MadMike ). Some flooding, lots of trees down and power outages but we weren't hit as hard as predicted.

I'm praying for NJ and NY. The Pictures from those areas are horrible and i was following the NYC hospital evacuations from wok last night. Intense.

I'm still here. Light wind, occasional sprinkle of rain. We faired well. Just a large branch fell down and landed next to three cars.

Neighbor's tree split in half. Just missed their cars.

              Wire down across the street.

Huge tree down the street uprooted.

              Photos to come later.

In one piece and at work today. No damage to our property, just lots of leaves and small branches all over the place. The power is on but cable (tv/net/phone) is out. Thank goodness for cell phones and LTE-enabled iPads

Pittsburgh area here. We have flooding in many of the low-lying areas, trees and power lines down, some high winds, etc. No snow just yet...but I'm sure it's coming.

I'm on CS, because I was told not to head to work today. Financial markets are closed, and even if I wanted to...I couldn't get to work. Main road I take into town...is under about 2 feet of muddy water.

As for Cape May, they seem to be getting the brunt of the storm. I've walked along Beach Drive millions of times over the years--my family rents an apartment about a block from the beach. In fact, I haven't seen water come up that far in decades. Nearly 40 years of vacations spent there, friends (including a girl I once dated from Cape May Point) made over the years

I'm in North West CT here, although closer to central. While I currently don't have power, the neighborhoods around me have power. It seems to be a mismatch of who does or doesn't have power. Here, the rain never seemed to be that bad, but there was a lot of wind. I noticed a neighbor did loose a tree, but it landed in another tree and didn't hit anything.

Fairfax County, VA - more or less due west of DC. We got lucky. Lot of rain and wind, but our house escaped without any apparent damage, and we still have power.

I'll be going in to work later, which should be fun. Dunno how many of my CWs will be in, or how busy work will be. But we'll see.

From Alberta but stuck in Toronto, was supposed to fly home yesterday, but flight was cancelled. Hoping to get out tonight but not going to find out for a few more hours. High winds and rain here. Not heard about flooding but their was some to the east of us. My parents and siblings a few hours east of here are still without power. Been another rainy wedding day for our family. Starting a tradition there.

I'm fine here in RI. I'm far inland so the worst we got was bad wind and only a few downed trees. Power barely went out.

My thoughts and prayers are with those who got a more direct hit from this storm.

Still here in DC. Thankfully the power never went out. Bus and rail service to resume and 2pm and back to work tomorrow.
I question my sanity every day. Sometimes it answers.

Im in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Managed to survive just fine. Mostly wind and a few broken windows. Luckily they were just the storm windows that broke. Lost power for about 3 or so hours. Nothing major. After the wind died down, it rained like crazy.
