Random, depressing question

UPDATE:

There isnt much of one. Its been almost 2 months and nothing. I was told, unoffically, that there was a snag with the DNA and for some reason it may be unusable. There may never be closure to this case and that tears me up inside.

No one has heard from her mom regarding anything, though she is alive someone and presumably distraught and still married

This just sucks that this is where it all just sits.

The funeral was finally yesterday. But it was at 0900 so i wasn't able to go.

My friend who was involved in the case had a major meeting about it the other day and reports they hope to make an arrest soon. I didn't press her for details though she probably would have given them to me. I'm crossing my fingers someone is brought to justice soon.

Funeral is definitely postponed until next Thursday. Family has flown in from Florida already to be here. Also, apparently half the family also still doesn't know the circumstances. I'm sure having the funeral delayed bc the coroner has the body will raise some hard questions......

The coroner has yet to release the body, so I heard there was postponement...and then I was told there wasn't.

I have no idea whats happening. There's been family drama all week as well. I've been keeping out of it.

Due to how she was, it wasnt a stranger rape, it had to have been a caretaker or family member.

That is far, far too common a story.


Amina: this is likely to blow up your husband's family in a big way. Even though it's hard for you, he's going to really, really need you over the next few months.

You have my sympathy and understanding: one member of my family accused another of child molestation/rape, the family has never truly healed. I pray that for your family, the situation resolves much better than it did for mine.

I know the last few times ive been on here ive been gloom and doom. I apologize. My life has been "interesting" the last while. But I have a truly important question.

Have you ever been aware of such a horrible truth that you were unable to share for whatever reason? What did you do to keep your self sane? I feel like i'm losing it..

Anyway, at some point in my life, I realized that I could either get upset and give up, or find a way around all the crap. My way around is that I tend to joke and laugh about everything, good or bad. Laughter is good for you, it physically creates endorphins if your body, and has several major psychological effects as well. It's just plain healthy to do it, and there's no reason not to.

I was kind of wondering that as well, but wouldn't that mean that D would probably have whatever STD it was as well? Does D suspect that it was him?

Hmm. Your description of the situation with Asshole makes me wonder if he isn't the one responsible. Rape isn't about sex. It's about power.

A lot of people are on the same page, including myself. I'm reserving true hatred until the DNA is run. I can't imagine that they wouldn't collect from him, being that he was alone with her a lot. We'll see. If he wanted to rule himself out and he was innocent, he'd give a sample without them asking.

Family Drama update: The mother, who I'll call D, and her husband who shall be named Asshole, are stating that family isnt allowed to come to the funeral and arent sharing the funeral information. <snip> I have a feeling i should start collecting bail money b/c there's bound to be fights, especially if the family is barred from entering the church.

I imagine the minister will have something to say about that if Asshole makes a stink about the other family members being allowed to attend.
