Heh...they sent me another piece of mail. They still have the information wrong about the number of payments.

Also, I did get a call from them a few days ago, left on my answering machine. I just ignored it.

Now I'm waiting on the email...

They must really want my car.

I wonder what they'd say if I tried EricKei 's tactic.

"Tell ya what, Mr. Dealership Car Salesman...you want the car so badly, swap me straight across for the Touring model...in the color I want..."

I'd tell them that, yea, you'd sell them the car but you'd only give it to them if it were some ridiculous amount, like several million, AND it had to be all in cash. No checks, no "dealership credit", no trade-in value, straight up cash in the ridiculous amount or there's no deal. And if they balk at it, tell them that that's your price and don't contact you again unless its to sign the paperwork.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I have an enthusiast-type car that's a bit unusual and has been climbing in value (slowly) over the past dozen years or so. My wife has a similar car, but much higher-end and more valuable. People will occasionally ask how much it would cost to buy the one or the other. My response is always "Ten times what it is actually worth." That seems to shut them up pretty quickly.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world.
The other, of course, involves orcs." -- John Rogers

You were a lot nicer than I would have been, mjr. I personally would have told them the next time they contact me unsolicited will be considered harassment, and appropriate legal consequences/remedies will be considered.

What I find hilarious is that they obviously haven't updated their records at the dealership. They say I still have 29 payments to go, but I don't. I paid the car off in a little over a year, so I have zero payments to go.
