I have such an oily scalp, I could never do that.

Ever since my A/C peed itself to death, I have been taking a bath earlier in the day, and a shower to wash my hair and shave and all that later in the day.

You have an oily scalp because you wash your hair so much. And you probably use normal shampoo that has SLS in it.

I use Paul Mitchell Blonde shampoos/conditioners (the shampoo is actually purple, too cool), but when the money is tight, I use L'Oreal Ever Pure for color treated hair, sulfate free.

It's genetics. My face has more oil than the Gulf. I don't over-wash it, but I'm religious about keeping it clean. I still have acne no matter what. My scalp gets oily throughout the day, just not as fast as my face. This has been going on for a few years now.

It's also been so humid that if I were to skip washing my hair, not only would it stink, but it curls on the ends and waves below my cheeks and it looks awful because they go every which way and not uniform. It'll do it regardless because of how hot it is, but if I wash it every day it gets a fighting to chance to stay straight longer.

From the neck down, my skin is normal.

So true. It's beyond disgusting. I buy those little rice papers from Sally Beauty (or Mary Kate and Ashley or Clean and Clear when money is tight) and I go through so damn many.

I've even gotten to using them while I'm working and showing them to coworkers. "See that? We can keep the world free of oil shortage if we'd just drill from my pores!"

Going without makeup doesn't even help, just keeps it matte a little longer than with makeup.

ever try a benzoyl peroxide solution? I use a 10% solution on my face every other day or so.

I went organic a few months ago and bought a clay mask from Gunilla of Sweden. That is some amazing stuff. The moisturizer also works wonders. I'm being real conservative with it, because I can't afford it anymore. They also make a cleanser called Akta, which is for oily skin. I got a sample of it and made that little bottle last two months.

I'm allergic to sulfur, so I can't use sulfur masks, and Pro-Active is a bunch of crap anyway.

I've been trying to stay away from BP and salicylic acid. I've gotten better results from natural stuff. I've used baking soda and vinegar (not at the same time lol) and lemon in my water and rubbed apples and yogurt on my face. I even made a mask of kitty litter, but wow was that rough.

I would think the acid in lemons would be an irritant for the face

It wasn't the best choice, but I was experimenting with just about anything.

If you think that's bad, I also sometimes use Phillips (Milk of Magnesia) between ordering makeup primer from Avon (the stuff that is supposed to keep you oil-free for 10 hours, works for about 3 for me but it's the best there is for me).

That is some powerful, powerful stuff. Even oil-rig blas gets red in the face and dry from it.

Blas, I am just like you with the oily face and scalp. When I am at work on long shifts, my face will get really gross, so I take a little hand sanitizer and dab that on my face. Works wonders. For my face wash, I have to have the scrubbie kind. If they don't have the little beads, I break out and remain oily for days, no matter what.

Blas, I have oily hair too, I don't know if it's as bad as yours. It takes me a couple of weeks to change how often I wash my hair. If I want to increase the interval I need to put up with it being greasy for a while. I'm down to about every three days, but every now and then it starts to look bad on the third day. (This is why I prefer to wash it in the morning). I have the added complication that wetting my hair (hard water) without washing it will make it go incredibly greasy. But if you have a week or two to try switching to washing your hair every other day, it's really great, because then if you miss washing it for some reason, the "eek, too long" isn't quite as bad is when you wash it every day. (Aside from the whole "good for your hair" bits).

All went well. It was a non-fasting screening after all. I wish I hadn't had that can of soda beforehand, though, or smoked.

Blood pressure and glucose readings both too high. Although instead of blaming work on the blood pressure, I am blaming the fact that they had some of the hottest guys I've ever seen there. They flew these guys in from Cali or somewhere. Oh. My. God. Yeah, I got nervous. Here I am, face covered in grease from a 10 hour shift from Hell, stinky like a smoker, wearing an enormous garbage bag of a work smock, old jeans and an old tshirt.

He said we Wisconsin people were really nice and he enjoyed being here.

I think I may just say fuck the scale and my body image issues. I'm 26% body fat (right in the middle of the scale of normal, I still have another 9% leeway before I'm not normal) and I lost 3 inches off of my waist since this spring. My BMI is unfortunately overweight, but I passed the waist to hip ratio and a waistline 35 inches or under for females is considered normal, so I am not overweight. Muscle weighs more than fat.
