I used to mix half a glass of cranberry juice with water, it tastes better than cranberry juice and is better for you. I also found that every time I'd drink a glass of that, I'd need like three glasses of water to get the taste out of my throat...or I'd get canker sores. It greatly increased my water, but I guess it was also pretty sucky.
And Becks, I love ramen noodle packets mixed with mashed potatoes or on popcorn. I need the salt, I guess.

All water is not created equal. Some tap waters in different places taste odd or downright rank to me. West Virginia water tastes like sulphur. Western Pennsylvania water tastes like a rusty nail. The tap water here where I live tastes like a dirty chemical bath with chlorine in it, shot out of a broken, leaky pipe. Which it pretty much is.

The water at the beach down here tastes like...horrors...the water at the beach.

Heck, some bottled waters taste like crap to me. Aquafina is pretty nice, it has added minerals that make it taste less flat and gross. Deer Park tastes like it came out of the back of a deer.

Find something that does not taste like ass to you. You really should drink water so your body will work properly. You don't have to drown yourself in it, like they always say you should, but you should drink enough your body can flush itself clean. Go for the spring water rather than the "drinking" water. Less likely to be full of chemicals.

I bring well water over from my mom's place every week. It tastes like earth and rain to me. No chemicals, no flouride, no God only knows what pollutant. Nice rock and forest and georgia-clay hint to it. Tastes like water ought to taste to me.

I find that making a big jug of water with some crushed mint leaves and lemon slices in it is REALLY nice for hot summer days. You get a hint of flavour, and loads of hydration.

neener - my well is punched through 175 feet of limestone, and into a very pure aquifer =) It is probably the best tasting water I have had.

Are you ever right! I have to filter my water to get my teas tasting right, and I like the way my tap water tastes.
And, RK, that water of your mother's sounds amazing... maybe you should bottle some of it and sell it? Just locally, or in your town where your water stinks.
BTW, if water out of the tap smells... don't drink it!
I remember hearing somewhere that if you can actually taste pure water like they use in labs, then you're deficient in iron or something.
