So you blow a candle out and it smokes. If you dislike the smell or smoke try this instead...
Extinguish the candle by curling the wick over to dip it into the wax. Then pull the wick back up.
The flame is out and there is no smoke.
Of course be careful how you handle the lit wick - the lady telling me this trick said to use scissors to handle it. Personally i don't always have scissors on hand so for some candles such as the jar-types i just shake the candle slightly to get the wax to slosh up over the flame. same effect.
but of course be careful with fire.
