Deputy stopped by today to pick up the evidence. She also had me email her screenshots of FB conversations that prove she knowingly gave me the phone and Kindle. If I had wanted to be vindictive, I could have kept the phone.

A good friend isn't marked by when the friendship is easy, but rather by when it is hard. Good you cut her loose, that seems to be the best when people suddenly go batshit crazy.

Hoo boy. She really went and did it now. Just got a message on my answering machine that she was just released from jail on her own recognizance. Yep, they arrested her for filing a false report. She's not to come within 100 yards of me, my place of residence, my property (meaning my car, since that is the only thing that leaves my place of residence with me,) or our mutual friend, who is being called as a witness. She's also not to have any contact with us. Wow. She REALLY screwed the pooch on this one.

Nice. The sweet taste of victory. And let this be a lesson to all the crazy psycho hosebeasts out there: mess with good people, and you're the one who's gonna get bitten on the ass.

Now will you contact the police for her contacting you?

Either way, she got what she deserved.

                I'm glad they did.

False reports can ruin lives, and they have to enforce a strict punishment for those who are just going to casually try and wreak havoc. Its not a joking matter at all, really.

Its amazing what kind of damage one false report can do to a person's life.

I only wish they would do that for false cps (child protective services) claims.

This comes from personal experience. I am still bitter about it four years later.

One more update. Looks like if she pleads, they will make her pay fines and restitution to the sheriff's department as well as demand community service. If she doesn't....well, the maximum is fines, community service, AND a month in jail. So we'll see.
