Think about us Brits when complaining about fuel prices. Our current prices where I live are averaging at £1.08 a litre, which is £4.09 a gallon, which works out at $7.01 a gallon, according to Reuter's currency converter. I would love to pay US prices. I'm paying approx. £100 ($172) a month to get to & from work, with maybe 3 short personal trips a month

my roommate and I pay between $80 and $120CDN for gas every two to three weeks. Depending on how much driving we have to do, anyway. He owns a fairly efficient Saturn. Anyway... gas is at a dollar and six cents-point-four per litre. Works out to roughly $44CDN per tank. A tank of gas gets us to and from work for 5 days before needing refuelling.

Isn't that the truth. Every time I see a high gas price around here, I groan, but then I always think; "This sucks, but it's way worse on the other side of the pond". No wonder public transportation is so big over there (and I wish we had a good system around here).

The at the station I used to work at the computer would give an extra prompt of "are you sure this is the right price" (paraphrasing of course :P) when the price went over or under a certain amount, though I can't remember what that amount was to save my life.

Keep in mind though that there are some European countries that can fit inside a medium-sized state with room to spare.

I'm the only person at work who never complained about gas prices. Of course my car gets 30+mpg and only has a 10 gallon tank. So even with gas at it's highest I could go all week on $30 worth of gas.

Here in Belgium (small European country, capital= Brussels)

1.04 euros for 1 litre (at my local gasstation)

                            1 gallon = 3.79 litres

                            € 1.045= $1.31 (US)

so $4,96/gallon, is that a lot or not?

It is between $1.85 and $2.15 here in central Texas but then again the election is over so I figure it will explode higher soon.
