Last night I had a lady come into the bay who looked to be around 30-40. She said, "My son pushed his I-touch into our car radio and we can't get it out".
I had trouble picturing this. I said, "You mean he put it into the cassette player?" She said, "Oh, is that what that is?"
And that's what it was. I went out to look, and her kid (maybe 15) had shoved his iPod Touch into the cassette player on her Chrysler 300M. Somehow it got jammed in there and wouldn't come back out. I tried turning the key on and pushing "eject" but that didn't help; but eventually I got enough of a grip on it that I was able to just yank it out of there. It left a very small scratch near the bottom of the player.
I'm just wondering what kind of privileged existence leaves two people mutually unable to recognize a car cassette player. I can just picture the conversation that led up to this dilemma:
"What's that little door?"
"I don't know. Maybe it's for an iPod?"
"Here, let's try it!"

How--there is no component of an iPod that says "insert me into a car radio". That's what the jack (if the car has one) is for. A kid 6 years old I could see doing this (and I have seen six-year-olds in my town with ipods). But 15?!
