  • upper 3 star does not equal whatever a cheap room is

I laughed at a person tonight....

It wasn't the propper professional thing to do...but you have to see that I get this question all of the time.

When a person enters our hotel, it doesn't look like a "cheap room" hotel...but tonight...

Guy: Hi, I need a CHEAP room.
Me: *laughs* Um...well our rooms are normally 124+tax (I had just told 4 walk-in ppl at the follow rate), but I can drop the rate down to 89+tax, which includes a full breakfast (we offere a buffet with hot items every day).
Guy: Okay, thanks. *starts to walk away*
Me: Our rates are a bit more because we offer a full breakfast & other emenities...
Guy: Okay, thank you. *runs away*

I really didn't mean to laugh, and it wasn't appropriate, but honestly what the HELL do these people think when they walk into a really nice lobby with a 72 inch flat pannel tv screen??? We have a fitness room and 24 hr pool, too... whoops on my part & the guys'

    AND BONUS

Just had a person, not even checked in, needing a pick up at the airport who asked for a wakeup call already & isn't even here....f'ing weird lol New one by me!

I had a guest this week who asked me to bring a robe and slippers to his room.

Now I understand the robe. We don't have them here, but I think we should, at least for the jaccuzi rooms if nothing else.

But slippers? Really? I've never heard of any hotel providing guests with slippers, and if I stayed in one that did, I wouldn't want to wear them.

And honestly, expecting that sort of thing at a hotel that isn't a Hilton or Hyatt or other really ritzy joint is like expecting clean sheets and an absence of prostitutes and johns at a Motel 6. It just isn't going to happen.
