Maybe means without three-hole punch holes?Quoth Ironclad Alibi View PostHow can a spiral bound notebook be non-perforated? "Non-perforated" means "no holes," but the wire spiral has to go through holes to hold the notebook together. There's no such thing as a stupid question... just stupid people.

True.Quoth XCashier View Post(Most teachers are not stupid, just like most customers do not suck. There do seem to be an awful lot of bad apples in the barrel, though.)
Yes, there are problems in the American education system, and stories like Dave's are prime examples of those problems, which seem to come from students, parents, and teachers. And to think I've been toying with the idea of going back to retail for an evening/weekend job just to pick up some extra cash...I suspect that... inside every adult (sometimes not very far inside) is a bratty kid who wants everything his own way.

This one needs to get back on track.
If you feel a comment would be better suited at fratching, that's where it belongs.
Can we please get back to the topic at hand and focus on the OP and his customers? This is a good thread and I don't want to close it, but won't hesitate to if it continues.

Sounds like one of those old fashioned marble covered notebooks. Which we do have at the Kitty in our somewhat limited stationery section.Quoth Ironclad Alibi View PostHow can a spiral bound notebook be non-perforated? I could be wrong though.

I had to buy a non-spiral bound notebook for a course. Of course, this was a university level course. It was a practice design notebook, and for legal reasons you can't be able to make invisible modifications. (I don't think that the marble book I purchased actually met that, but I got credit).

Personally, I think the concept is idiotic and detracts from the appearance of the paper, but...Quoth Ironclad Alibi View PostHow can a spiral bound notebook be non-perforated? "Non-perforated" means "no holes," but the wire spiral has to go through holes to hold the notebook together.
The perforation its referring to is usually about 1/8 inch in from the spiral binding, and is that really thin line that makes it easier to tear the paper out without having to tear it from the spiral.
Again, this just makes it look bad to me, with all the spiral bits hanging from it.Something kind of sad about the way that things have come to be.
Desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety?

I've had teachers in high school who would not accept assignments if they had the spiral bits. Either use regular looseleaf paper or cut off the fringe. (This was before everything was typed, so even most essays or other longer papers were hand-written.)Quoth terakhan View PostAgain, this just makes it look bad to me, with all the spiral bits hanging from it.I don't go in for ancient wisdom
