I had a mother/grandmother dynamic duo in the other day trying to get a list of school supplies.
I've already complained about these lists written by teachers who don't bother to proofread the list or check to see that the item is available, but this one really took the cake.
They'd specified a two-sided ruler, with one side being 6 inches/15 cm and the other being 12 inches/30cm.
Um....yeah....
And neither woman understood me when i said that was impossible. I had to explain several times that it can be either 6 inches or 12 inches, but not both; that's physically impossible.
"But it's on the list!"

I finally managed to get them to just buy a 12 inch/30 cm ruler and be done with it.
