So far, I'm definitely noticing the SCs are going for the easy targets just like I thought. Keep 'em coming though! I want to try to find the 'magic number'

I haven't worked front-end customer service in years, so I'll start from back then:

      1. Height: 5'6" Weight (back then): from 110-160 pounds
      2. Gender: Female
      3. Demeanor: Pretty low-key, no-nonsense but not mean or bitchy
      4. Amount of crap from customers: This went all over the board. About 15% were nice customers, God bless them, may their tribes increase. 70% were just...there (if I may paraphrase Raps). The other 15%...yikes. Straight from Hell. Perhaps by now, most of them have gone back from whence they came.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

        1) About 5'5"... 166cms tall. Slim to average built, but a uh, *ahem*, well developed chest

        2) Female

        3) Friendly, casual, sometimes obviously tired or bored.

        4) I've only been working about 4 years so it's not as large an experience base to draw on but... Normally very little crap from people; most of the crap I ever got was people trying to get out of late fees thinking they could make the small teenage female do what they wanted. The occasional slime hitting on me, and the occasional adult deciding that I'm young and therefore too stupid to do my job.

          1) 5' 7" about 120 lbs.

          2) Female (I'm old now - considered a senior citizen in some areas)

          3) I'll answer questions courteously but will not initiate interaction with customers

          4) Working retail for nearly 10 yrs now has convinced me that most people are evil. I have been spit on, cussed out, tripped, threathened, hit on, lied about...you name it.

But I've also encountered some very nice people. When I worked in Pets there was one couple who would ask for me specifically because I spent close to an hour with them helping them choose their aquarium/accessories and telling them how to get started. They would come in often to buy fish and we'd always 'visit' while they were there. They even brought me a small gift one day. There were several regulars that I enjoyed seeing in the Pet Dept.

Now that I'm in Fashions the customers, mostly women, are all a bunch of slobs and I hate them all. I don't spend any time with any of them either...can't stand 'em. Since I'm older now I don't get physically 'threatened' anymore but some SCs are still verbally abusive.

Sidenote: The most abusive person I deal with is my manager. She's worse than any of the SCs.

            1. 6' give or take, and I am a rather fat man.

            2. male

            3. My demeanor depends on my mood. varies from warm and friendly to colder than ice.

            4. I usually only get problems from old people and the insane.

              1. 6'1" and about 220 pounds.
              2. Male? Oh yeah, boy parts. Male.
              3. Generally annoyed with coworkers, otherwise friendly, helpful and courteous toward customers who have done nothing to piss me off as of yet.
              4. I get about an average amount of suck for my job, maybe a bit less. Depends where I'm working.

                1. 5'3'' and chubby. Blonde hair, blue eyed (and at the time) sporting a nice tan.
                2. Female
                3. With regards to customers -- helpful, perky, cheerful. Coworkers -- coarse and uncouth (in a raunchy manner).
                4. Depends:
When I worked phones I got RIDICULOUS amounts of SCs -- It could be because I worked phones for Unemployment Insurance. Apparently, my voice makes me sound younger than I am... and it was unbelievable the amount of garbage I'd get.

Working front end in food service -- honestly, not too much. People were happy about getting their food fast, accurately and with no hassle.

At the gas station -- again, it was ridiculous. The gas station and the food place I worked at were directly next door to each other, so I can't say "different clientle" because they were exactly the same people. People trying to barter for gas, breaking the pumps, trying to steal beer and cutting in line. It was obnoxious. >_<

4.) amount of crap: Only from older men who think they can impress me by getting bigger and louder. I'm a woman, sir, not a bear. So not that often.

                    Sex: Female
Demeanor: pretty quiet and shy and get on with things
Amount of crap: not that much, but generally at the first sign of trouble i will stay quiet and get a supervisor to deal with it

                      1) General size (preferably a general description, along with height/weight if you feel like it)
                      2) Gender
                      3) Most common demeanor at work
                      4) How much crap you've gotten from customers on a lifetime average.
                      1) 5'8", 190lbs. And I have good posture, which makes people think I'm taller/lighter.
                      2) Female
                      3) Friendly and chatty OR harried and snappy with a side of chatty
                      4) Not a lot. People don't like to start things with me, even over the Internet.

My brother told me, after we'd both graduated from high school, that there were girls in my class who would have harrassed me (I was the premier geek/freak/weirdo in the place) except that they were afraid that I would beat them up. We both had a good laugh at that one; I'm way pacifistic.

                        1. 5'6", 220 pounds, but I look more like 150 pounds (legit big bones, heh). Moderately curvy but usually wearing baggy clothes so it doesn't show much.

                        2. Female, biologically

                        3. Quiet, keeping to myself with most visitors, boisterous and loud with my coworkers. Somewhat, er, insane when dealing with buttheads.

                        4. Sort of depends. I've gotten probably an average amount that was simply directed at me, but then I like to pick fights and get involved where I wasn't orginally involved (i.e., "combative"). So in total, quite a lot.

                          1) 5'6" - Drew Barrymore style build.
                          2) Female
                          3) Friendly, helpful, but not obnoxiously so.
                          4) Factoring in the time at DishNetwork, working for Mom&Pop style stores, and large chains, immense amounts of abuse, equally so from men and women. Though I'm unafraid to stand up for myself any longer.

Just an aside, but if you stand up straight and keep your head up, people will be slightly less likely to pick on you. The bullies know what sort of body language to look for. I suspect that is one reason I've rarely been hassled outside of general school shenanigans.

Of course, if you're a tall person, then people might just get intimidated for no other reason than that you have obvious self-confidence.

                              1) 6'5" +/- , 210 pounds (swimmer's body- skinny looking but deceptively athletic); younger looking than my 35 years.
                              2) All man, baby!
                              3) Not shy, but not outgoing, either. Calm, cool, collected. I like to sit back and read the situation before I open my mouth. But I am a good salesperson because I ask the right questions, draw the customer out, and listen to what they say. *closet surfer /beach bum at heart* Also, I know my shit.
                              4) I don't take crap from anyone. People that try it get shut down quickly. There was a time when I did take crap, but that was 20 years ago when I first started working.

                                1) 5' 10" or so, about 140 lbs (more if I'm carrying the infamous TARDIS bag ). Average build; some guys around here seem intimidated to see a girl of equal height or taller than they are.

                                2) female (biologically anyway)

                                3) calm, details depend on my mood but always pleasant although I'm called a misanthrope in general

                                4) I can take very little crap from people. When I was younger and more naive, I used to get walked on a bit, but I've wised up. Some people call me mean, but usually that's because I didn't capitulate to $insane demand/$nutball argument. I would get equal amounts of abuse at the bookstore, but it was the old women and soccer moms that dished it out the worst. Now, it tends to be guys who can't seem to realize that yes, girls can be hackers too
