  • 2 managers are driving me crazy

For background information refer to this post of mine which was posted in July... https://www.customerssuck.com/board/...elp-and-advice

One of the employees who works at the fuel center ordered some supplies over a month ago which has not arrived.

The supplies are pads that the fuel center uses to soak up fuel spills and so on.

There are not many of those pads left in the fuel center as of a couple of weeks ago.

I looked in the back warehouse for them a couple of weeks ago as well as earlier this week, but could not find them.

I asked one of the assistant store managers if he knew how to order them a couple of weeks ago, and his response was that he 1) did not know, and 2) he would have to find out.

I followed up with him yesterday, and he told me he has not been able to find out how to order them.

I previously mentioned this to the fuel center employee who trained me, and he said to check and see if they are on the q r code order form.

I checked that form, and they were not.

So, I told him that yesterday since he opened the fuel center and I closed the fuel center.

Since I am the fuel center lead, he suggestetd that I e-mail the District Manager over the fuel centers, which I did.

The District Manager responded to my e-mail stating that the store has to order them and included the order form.

I was never informed by any store manager at the location I work at of this.

So, I forwareded that e-mail to the assistant store manager I spoke to.

Apparently, that manager told the manager over the fuel center, who then came to the fuel center yesterday to tell me the following...
    • I am not supposed to be e-mailing any higher up about anything, including the District Manager over the fuel centers
    • I am not supposed to bother any higher up, including the District Manager
    • Everything is kept in house
    • I am supposed to e-mail store management or her, who will then find the answer and let me know
    • The reason why everything is kept in house is that she and store management do not want the higher ups to know what is going on at this location.
I told her that the co-worker who trained me suggested I do that, but she told me "I do not want to hear *co-workers name*"

    What the heck???

I am trying to wrap all this around my brain.

If the manager over the fuel center doesn't want higher ups knowing what's going on at your location, that sounds sketchy as hell. What are they trying to hide? It sounds like you should start documenting incidents like this so it doesn't come back to bite you in the ass down the line.

Is there a place where you could report this anonymously to the higher ups? It might be something to look into.

Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

I think that this proves my point about little miss paranoid (Fuel Center Manager). Handle everything on the inside so that upper manglement can't find out how FUBARed the local operation is.

Paranoia aside, you should have started with the fuel center manager. If she refuses/won't provide info, ask DM but do not tell fuel center manager what you did.

Yes. I'm not liking this whole premise of secrecy.

I am getting the sense that the fuel center manager wants to create an us versus them dynamic between the fuel center and the city office.

              I do not want that.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a fishy situation.

I'm not sure she wants "us vs them", sounds more like she wants her vs everyone; she's established her feifdom and she's gonna rule it how she likes regard;ess of anyone else below or above her. Document, document, document, and look for anonymous reporting options both inside and outside the company, in case anything gets that compromising!

I am beginning to wonder if the "we keep everything in house" is just for her department, and that it does not pertain to the entire store.

She toldl me when I first started working at the fuel center that she considers what is important for the company first when making decisions for her department, but I am now wondering if that is true.

She wants me to come to her for job development and training.

I do not want to considering she established her own fiefdom.
