I know that i have not posted anything recently. There has been nothing note worthy to talk about as of late.
Untill tonight that is.
The film Cloverfield came out and on a whole it was a really busy night. I was fried and just wanted to go home. So after taking out the trash, I head back inside to find my supervisors on a wild goose chase to find some guys daughter.
That's not the main point of this story. It gets to be around after 11 when i notice this girl about my age come out of Cloverfield (while the movie was still playing), dubbled over and looking like she might puke.
This was like a given, mostly due to the camera work in the film.
At this point my helpful nature kicks in and i direct her to the nearest trash can. Then we pull over a bench for her and she sits down. The girl doesn't look so hot. She looks Ill and i assume that it's from the movie.
I get her some water and kinda go about my business, not really sure i want to take off just yet (concerned about her and all)
Well, things go from bad to worse as she starts shaking and complaining of just totally feeling f-ed up. She's laying down on the bench, shaking and crying from time to time.
We have no idea what was going on with her, but we called the paramedics and tried to keep her comfortable. Putting some of my schooling knowledge to work, I tried to deduce if she had taken anything and find out that she's on a few different behavioral modification drugs (anti depressants, anti anxiety medication, anti-psychotics etc...)
Rather than being concerned about how messed up this girl is to start with, I'm more concerend as to whether she messed up her medication or whether something else could have set her off (different drugs acting on the body and what not) to which she informs me she hasn't made any sort of mistake.
I'm at a loss at this point. My manager thinks that she might be having a siezure (although i've never witnessed one so i have no way of knowing whether or not this is the case). So she has her friend get in touch with her mother while we wait for the ambulance.
The ambulance comes, the EMT's come in and assess her before getting her on a stretcher and getting her into the ambulance. And the girls mother shows up just as she's getting in.
So, all's well that ends well i guess. Not much of a story, but it just made me concerened for another person and all. Funny thing is is that the girl (mid breakdown) was thanking me for sticking by her when a few other's had just walked past (good samaritan thing and all). Even my manager told me (based on what had happend) that i was a good person.
But I'll tell you, when you see another person in need, man it just does something to you.
What a night.
