There is no breed of dog more in need of our compassion; in need of our call to arms on their behalf; and in need of what should be the full force of our enduring sanctuary.
I think the award for "Most Sadistic Parents" has to go to those of a girl I went to school with for half of my sixth grade year.
Her last name was "Hymon." Her parents decided that a good first name for a girl would be...
..."Tara."
The best part was that, by the sixth grade, she had already been made fun of by all the kids and it was pretty much over with, having been worn out years earlier.

There used to be a politician named Richard Face. And the school he went to had an award named after him. Imagine the ribbing you'd get for winning the Dick Face award...

Deepak Chopra says, "Fear deprives people of choice. Fear shrinks the world into isolated, defensive enclaves. Fear spirals out of control. Fear makes everyday life seem clouded over with danger.
