The PS2 was like that also. The list probably had 10 games on it and for it stunk because 2 or 3 of those games I wanted to play. I hope Sony is smart enough to make all their games backward compatible because that is probably a big reason for a lot of gamers.

Well a few things happened yesterday.
      1. There are now 14 people and one infant in line.
      2. Now we are not allowed to make fun of the people in line even if we are off the clock. (Probably had to do with my idea involving my clown suit and Lysol.) I'll have to add that to the list of "Not allowed to do at work". I got yelled at today when I went to get my paycheck.
      3. The Layaway department is starting to smell a little ripe.

i saw on the news ps3's were going for 1800 but now ebay has made it so only certified sellers or something can sell them and only one per seller
those people who waited in line to sell it will be mighty mad hahahha
We've got 6 camped outside by my last count (last night). They've got two tents, have been buying snacks in the store periodically, and aren't allowed near the doors (they have to camp along the side of the building instead). Supposedly they're all friends, and three are keeping their systems while three are planning to sell them. We'll see how that goes.

Had a guy today who called the store while I was covering for the fitting room/operator, who asked how many people were already camped out and how many units we're getting. Rumor in the store says we're getting 6 PS3s. I highly doubt that.

How's that an oxymoron? Judging by how many chickens and cute little yappy dogs they snatch out of yards around here, it's more redundant! Actually saw one loping down the sidewalk in the city the other night!
My husband would say it's an oxymoron. But then, he's from Dallas/Ft. Worth, and down there the coyotes use chicken tactics (sneaking and stealing) and would sooner run away as look at you. Up here, they chase customers across the parking lot (yes, it's happened before, while I was on shift).

well, I certainly know what I'm doing after work! I get off at 11:30, there's a wal-mart a mile away, so I'm going to go taunt the PS3 geeks knowing that they won't give chase, and if they do they'll lose their spot in line

              Oh. My. GOD.

There is absolutely NO freakin' way in the world that I would ever pay that much for a video game system. Even if I had that kind of money, I still would not spend that much.

I'd show that listing to my brother, but at this time of night, I want quiet. I don't want to hear him ranting about how stupid people are so loud he can be heard in Canada

I seriously doubt that most of those are actually going to be paid for. Maybe the ones that are at a couple grand (which I still think is COMPLETELY insane, expecially considering how many bugs it's probably going to have), but nine thousand dollars? Fourteen thousand? ELEVEN MILLION DOLLARS? Hahaha. I bet ebay just LOVES having to deal with all the fee refunds on those when the high bidder doesn't pay.

Well, it's Nov 17 now. The good news is, for the midnighters, the ordeal is over. (I believe there's still those who didn't have a midnight release. Good luck.)

The bad news is that now you're going to have every moron in the area asking, "Do you have any Playstation 3's in stock?" from now until Christmas. *groan*

                    Good Lord, $8100 for a PS3!?!?!?

Maybe I should've bought one and sold it myself. I could pay off my car with that kind of money!

Anyhoo, we got a grand total of 4 PS3's at my store. 2 with the 60 gb hard drive and two with the 20gb hard drive. We had people come and pitch tents at 7 yesterday morning.

They came prepared. They had portable TVs in their tents and one group had a portable heater in their tent.

As I type this, my computer has the time at 7:54 am. So in t minus 6 minutes the campers' wait will be worth it.

I really do think that it is wrong for these people to buy a PS3 only to sell it on ebaby for $8000.00. Is there a limit to how many you can buy at a time? Are you only limited to one per person? For everyone that is selling there station for outrageous prices there is someone who was next in line that will not get one that really wanted it, and is going to actually use it.

That's the sad fact of Sony releases, I've noticed. But as far as Wal-Mart is concerned, at least, it's one per customer for the PS3 (and I believe eBay is only allowing one sale per seller for the same).

On Thurday, a couple of the town cops came strolling into the store and asked if everything was OK.

                          Yes. Yes it was.

Lady said that a "citizen" had called to report that there were a couple of people wearing ski masks racing into the gas station (that I work at).

The cop was sure that it was just some kids from the line at the BB across the street, but had to come check it out anyway.

Yes, it was just a couple of kids--they had been in the store a few times that day already. I'm glad the lady cop came to check on it anyway. Now if only the other cops would stop in from time to time--especially on 3rd shift. They only stop in on that shift when K, the drunken little s*** is working. But that's another rant for another day.
                          I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

You know what would really suck is that the one bug they find in these new PS3's is that the system shuts down around 1 month and won't come back on, no matter what is done.

I've got a very spitefull and mean streak in me.

Y'know, a creative manager could solve an employee shortage problem. "Employees in good standing get first crack at new game systems. Based on seniority. The PS4 is due out around 2010, they say. Want an aplication now, to beat the rush later?"

Yea, I'm not sure that would work well. Everyone at the store who has been there for 15 years would buy it for their kids and/or grandkids. Heck J would probably get one for her great grandkids. J is so old that she shares stories about the Battle of Britian in the breakroom. (Yes she is that old, but you can't tell it.)
