I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I've been invited to an Assessment Session for a job I recently applied for, the fact that that I have gotten to this stage is a promising sign though.
What is the job though, you might ask?
Blackjack dealer at a casino >_>
Decided I wanted to try something a little bit different from what I am used to, go a little out of the 'comfort zone', so to speak. I am tired of cold-calling people asking if they want to take part in opinion polls - I like jobs where I can deal with people face to face - plus the hours at my current job are FAR too unreliable for someone at university, so if I get this job, plus depending on what hours I can get at the job, I will either cut back my hours to the bare minimum or I will simply remove my name from the roster completely - my current workplace knows I am looking for alternate work and are quite happy to give me a good reference since their entire schtick is casual and part time work.
If I am successful, I will have to go through a 5 week (paid) training school which will teach me all I need to know about being a croupier on the gaming floor, after which, once I have had a final test to determine that I know my stuff, I will be allowed to roster for shifts.
So, fingers crossed!
