    Update:

Confusion is still happening, memory loss and sudden inability to make sense of things he's read are still happening too in random attacks.

All tests complete. Going back to the docs next week for results. He's also going to be assessed for Bipolar disorder at that appointment which is brilliant and something we've wanted for a while.

I hope the test results point toward a diagnosis. Sounds frustrating.

        Major update:

Test results (Except MRI) are now in. All clear.

The fasting bloods are being repeated as they showed his sugar levels were elevated, but they did another test on the initial sample to see if he's diabetic and that came back negative. So they want it done again to figure out what's going on.

The doc thinks that if there was a problem with the MRI it would have been sent back much faster.

Heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, thyroid all functioning fine and no anomalies found on x-ray.

All blood levels normal except sugar, cholesterol slightly elevated, gentle reminder to eat less fatty foods.

The current working theory is possibly some kind of absence seizure, so we're expecting a neurological consult asap.

Mirtazapine has been re-started with instructions that if the confusion suddenly worsens stop at once, but Doc doesn't think it's involved.

Referral to community mental health team made for BPD assessment.

        I'll keep you all posted.
