homemade fudge, free takeouts for a week @ work, and really cool scrubs...and mass hugs.
My son was in a Pediatric Unit for 3 weeks. We had a room w/ a bed in it. The nurses helped take care of us too - but I learned where the laundry and food service rooms were - that was not a hotel IMO.

Our days aren't as well-known, but we do have them. For instance, Nuclear Medicine Week is usually the first week of October. Im late but thanks. And as others have said, a nurses job could never be done without all the help from CNA and other assistive personnel from all walks of healthcare. It takes all kinds.
