  • Nurse's Day

    Today my Maxine calendar reads:

Today is Nurse's Day, so go hug a nurse...
that is, if you can get one to slow down long enough!
Women can do anything men can.
But we don't because lots of it's disgusting.

    Seshat's self-help guide:
    1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

homemade fudge, free takeouts for a week @ work, and really cool scrubs...and mass hugs.

My son was in a Pediatric Unit for 3 weeks. We had a room w/ a bed in it. The nurses helped take care of us too - but I learned where the laundry and food service rooms were - that was not a hotel IMO.

        Hugs, yalls.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words on Nurses' Day.

And hats off to my Allied Health Colleagues, without whom I could not do my job

Hugs also to all health professionals who don't have a 'special day'. Techs, orderlies, all the 'invisible' assistants.

We couldn't do our jobs without you nurses either. A good nurse is truly an asset to the entire medical community.

Our days aren't as well-known, but we do have them. For instance, Nuclear Medicine Week is usually the first week of October. We appreciate the recognition anyway.

Im late but thanks. And as others have said, a nurses job could never be done without all the help from CNA and other assistive personnel from all walks of healthcare. It takes all kinds.
