If your girlfriend brings brownies to your workplace, and one of your co-workers can't stop singing after eating some, you know what happened. Cookies (WITHOUT pot) for reference.

Would that be the bit where the boss hands them off with the instruction "Analyze these brownies"?

Been a while since I saw it (i.e. several decades), so I don't recognize the line. Can you name the series, and the characters involved?

          Barney Miller.

He actually told Harris to "take these things and have them analyzed.... NOT THAT WAY!"; it seems that I didn't remember the line correctly: https://youtu.be/LKubY_IC7xw

Yep, Yemana was the singer and Wojo's girlfriend brought the brownies. Was one of the incidents they used in the memorial episode when Jack Soo died during the run of the series.

Thinking further about this, if there were employees there that night with her who didn't imbibe, could they have gotten into trouble if the police showed up?

It sounds like "the goods" were shared, but I'm wondering if someone said, "No thanks", and the police showed up, if the person who declined would also get into trouble.

I think the only way police would do anything is if they are in physical possession of it at the time the they showed. As far the company's reaction,I don't know. iirc, the company only fired the people they identified in the video as smoking, but I can't be 100% sure of that. The one person I knew that worked there at the time (it was his day off) is not in a place that I can easily asked him about it at the moment on a unrelated matter, but that's really more a rant for fratching then here.
