I used to get calls on a semi-regular basis from some woman, who was positive she was calling her daughter. The problem? I saw her name on caller ID and had no clue who she was! And if I'd answer, she would say, well, this is the number information gave me.

First of all, why do you need to call information every time you call your daughter, and secondly, I've told you again and again that this is not the right number! She sounded older, so I wondered if demential or something was beginning to set in, so I was nice, but it was frustrating.

I get calls for a guy named "Sonny" all the time. He has the same number, but different area code. He works at a furniture store in my town. How did I find this out? I went to the furniture store looking for something and I got his card. I looked at the card, looked at him and just went "Its you!!!". We had a good laugh.

Ugg, I have a TON of wrong number constantly calling me. Currently I have Spanish speaking individuals calling my house and cell (I don't believe they are the same people) babbling away in Spanish for several minutes. Now, I know just enough Spanish to get a margarita and to get myself to the bathroom, that's it. And my answering machine and voicemail messages are both in English. So apparently these people aren't bothering to listen to either message and instead just babble on in Spanish about God-knows what. :P

Wow, why wait so long? And to think I was aggrivated with the guy I accidentily texted yesterday- I inputed my friend's cell wrong and this guy kept asking vague questions until I finally said "look, I'm pretty sure I have the wrong number, right? I'm sorry. Goodbye."

On another note, I once had someone mis-call my phone, and then leave a message because "I sounded cute and they wanted to talk to me". This guy was 10 years older than me, and still kept hitting on me, until I got my number changed.

I recently got a handful of texts on my cell while at work one night. Apparently from a guy, trying to be flirty, but he wouldn't believe me when I told him he had the wrong number, and wouldn't give me a full name, just initials. Really odd, and quite annoying, especially because he seemed to think I was just playing hard to get when I told him I had no idea who he was.

Ugg, I just remember this chick who texted me a few times. At first I thought it was my mom's friend's daughter who I had hung out with. It ended up that this chick (not mom's friend's daughter) who thought I was some guy named Devon and she want to jump his bones. It really threw me for a loop since the messages weren't flirty or anything just regular talk. She wasted a ton of my minutes. The cell was an old track phone that used up 1/2 a minute for every text message that was sent to me or I sent out.

There's a scam around here where you get a message saying something like "I'm sorry please don't leave me" (something that sounds like it would be really bad if it didn't get to the intended recipient) and when you reply saying they got the wrong number, it costs you $5.
That $5 scam sounds like the old 809 trick. Basically, 809 is the area code assigned to the Dominican Republic. Since it is outside the US, it isn't covered by US laws, including the one that requires pay phone services (such as 900 numbers) to disclose how much they charge and give the caller the option to hang up before any charges are incurred.

Another popular phone scam used to be for a scammer to call up a number, claim to be a phone company representative, and then have you press 90# or *90. This would give the scammer access to an outside line from which they could then call anyone they wanted. This was specifically for phone systems that required a 9 to be dialed to get an outside line.

                  ^-.-^

All of this is making me feel bad for the person who has the same cell number as me, but with the last two digits inverted.
When people asked for my number and I clammed up that's what I would give them.

Thankfully for Mr. or Mrs. xxx-xx23 I now have the reject line number, and so long as the recipient doesn't know that number all is well in Blow-Off Ville.

I once got a text from this girl texting her friend telling her random crap. I texted back saying I didn't know who she was and that it was a wrong number; she texted back saying (to the letter!) "OMG u stole ma bffs fone!" I then called the number and said to her, "Don't be stupid, I've had this phone for about five years. You got the wrong number." Then she got it. -.- Jeez, what kind of moron just assumes their friend's phone was nicked when they get a text telling them of a wrong number?

I already told this story before. But the gist of the story is that some guy, called me up and said he was going to kick my ass. All because he thought I was this other guy. I finally convinced him that he had a wrong number. That I didn't know his GF/wife. He did seem like he was drunk

I've told this story before, but here it is again...

On New year's day, at 12:15am, I get a call from the Buffalo/Syracuse area code wishing me a happy new year and to have a good night. I had no idea who he was but he sounded nice and sincere to my sleeping. I still have no clue who that person was or who he ws trying to reach

I got a random text on New Year's Eve wishing me a happy new year. Very random. I looked up the source number, and it was from Calgary. I don't know anyone who was there at that time. That's the only wrong texting I've gotten, but it was a pretty cool one.

I've had 2 wrong cell calls (I ignore my land line).

On one I was getting off a plane on my way back from Idaho, and I checked my messages, there was a guy with a NY accent telling his secretary that he needed such and such information before he gave his report the next day in such and such place Italy.

Yeah, sounds important, might wanna, I don't know, get the right number?

The other one, was during my art class (I SUCK at drawing ), the prof there had a policy, that if we got a call, and ringing was audible, we had a choice, either answer it on speaker phone, get it confiscated, or leave the class and get an absence. I chose speaker phone, the instant I answered it was just straight yelling and cussing in an accent that I could NOT understand. I hurriedly hang up, and my professor looks pissed, I say I don't know who that is, I turn my phone off, and turn it back on after class, not even 5 minutes later, she calls again, same thing, but now she's asking what I have to say for myself, cause she's been calling me for an hour now while my phone was off.

                              "Wrong number you idiot..."

She yells at me for being rude, and hangs up. -_-
I am a Blank Space for spacing purposes, ignore me.

Back on topic, don't get me started with text messages. I get so many texts from #s I don't know...and the worst part is working graveyard shifts and still using my phone as my alarm clock. Having to either hear my phone ring and ring and ring all day long or hear text after text come in while I try to sleep.........
