wait patiently for twenty minutes.
or so the spawner of said child claims.
my son and i were waiting at the doctor (patiently and quietly) for our appointment yesterday; in about fifteen minutes (we arrived a bit early), this woman comes in with her child, an active six year old (nothing abnormal about that) and checks in-all seems good and fine with the world, right?
no.
the doctor took a new patient and is running a bit late (10-15 minutes), so the receptionists inform us that she's running behind and they're sorry about the inconvenience.
i'm good with this (son's a bit annoyed, but i tell him to deal with it), but the woman does a passive aggressive sc routine:
her: she's running late? i pulled him out of school for this appointment; you can't expect a six year old to wait patiently? what are you thinking? what am i supposed to do, he can't wait *lather, rinse repeat for about five minutes, all the while, her child is running around, coming in and out of the office while she does, yes, you guessed it: NOTHING*
receptionist: i'm sorry, but she's running late due to the new patient...
her: *more ranting about how a six year old cannot possibly wait around*
more time passses with her mumbling more passive agressive crap about the situation (annoying me greatly and showcasing her lackluster parenting skills), when the doctor is finished and finally calls her in.
funny thing to this is that another woman came out with her son, who was about six or seven and he was quiet and perfectly well behaved the entire time while she took care of checkout.
another funny thing: my mom had two hyperactive children that she was able to make mind, as i was with my son, so what's her excuse, exactly??
