I went out to one of my regular hangouts for beer and karaoke. I was sitting at the bar, enjoying a beer, waiting for my turn to sing, and just minding my own business. The DJ was playing a few tunes before starting the rotation of singers again, and as it was fading out, I heard some yelling going back and forth between the doorway and the area across the bar from me. The guy by the door was yelling something to a couple guys sitting across the bar from me, something about, "Come on outside then! You think you can knock me out, let's find out!" After that, the bartender told him to leave. Apparently he was running a tab, because I saw her hand him a piece of paper, and he handed her a credit card, yelling at her the entire time, and then flipping her the finger just before he stormed out. I was surprised he didn't try to run out on his tab, but I later found out he did try.
When the bartender came back around to bring me another beer, I asked her what had just happened. She said, "Nothing, just some drunk asshole. Every time he comes in here, he gets all drunk and acts like that!" I was going to ask her why they haven't banned him if he's always doing that, but the place was busy, and she had to run off to check on another customer.
I decided to get the side of the story from the guys he was arguing with, so I went over to the other bar and asked. The one guy told me he had been making racist remarks, going "N
r this, n
r that," so he asked him nicely, "Could you cool it with that word? Some of my family and friends are black."
Apparently he replied back with something like, "Fuck you! I'm KKK! I hate n
rs!" After that, the discussion devolved into threats and insults, and the idiot making the remarks was told to leave.
I still can't believe there are people like that in this day and age. Some people should stay the hell home, or not drink.
