I see a truck in the left turn lane start to swing wide... I think to myself, there is no way in hell that guy is going to... and he did, this truck (5 axle, good 60ft trailer at least) decided it would be a good idea to try to do a U-turn across the main road in and out of the north side of downtown no less...
Did he have a black-on-yellow banner across his front bumper saying "Oversize load"? If not, then the longest trailer he could have had would be 53 feet. I'd love to get a run through Salt Lake City, because that would mean a long (lots of money) run.

no black on yellow banner... so I guess only 53 feet (I was guessing the length based on how many lanes the trailer took up while turning). And please say if you did a run through Salt Lake you wouldn't make it in any of my sightings? Something about this city makes otherwise good truck drivers suck.

My friend calls his daughter "the baby", but then again he refers to his wife as "what's her name" (with utmost affection though).

Truckers I do not get. As a CDL qualified driver, I am aware of spped rules and log books and all the lovely restrictions placed on over the road haulers. Why is it they insist on passing each other on I-10 or I-17? That is great that you are going 3 miles per hour faster than the other guy, but you can't speed off if you do pass him. Since a lot of trucking companies are going to GPS tracking, hopefully these games will stop.
I feel crazy. Like I'm drunk and trapped in a water globe and someone won't stop shaking it.

oh don't get me started on those on I-80 going across Nevada going up hill who decide because they are capable of going 22mph and the guy in front of them is only going 20mph that they should be allowed to pass... God, NHP really should grow a spine and pull some of these over... I even once while getting pulled over told the cop that he was an idiot for pulling me over for 8 over because during the time I was pulled over at least 3 trucks would pass who were doing things much more dangerous than my 8 over and would have much higher fines (of course after he wrote my ticket and was getting ready to walk away... I'm bold, not stupid )
