The only part that bothers me is that the OP was in 4th gear with both hands out the window, and was watching the show in her rear-view mirror.

Well, that's fair, I can hardly claim to have been being a model driver.
But if it's any consellation, I was only going about 30 on a very sparsely travelled road. You can put it in about 4th and ride the clutch, letting you coast along at a slow speed while also giving you the ability to let the clutch out and have a little power in case you need it.
You're right, though, I was screwing around.

Riding the clutch will wear out that clutch. Not recommended... instead put it in the correct gear and use the throttle.Comment
