My response: Did I give you the impression that I was preparing to leave? Silly me. I can only handle one cart at a time, and I need to go back for the rest of my supplies. So sorry to inconvenience you.

What I like doing is if they are still there once I'm done loading and in my car, when I pull out of my space, I head straight towards them, so they need to back up and let me by. Hopefully there will be someone coming the other direction to swoop in and take the spot before they can get it.

Carefully let the air out of their tires.
Spoken like a true amateur - the right way is to use a valve tool to loosen the cores so they're no longer seating. That way, after they pump up their tires, the air will leak out again.

Some years back, I lucked out and got a space near the door to the mall during the Christmas rush. You wouldn't believe how many people wouldn't stop to let me out when I had finished my business. How could it not cross their minds that once I leave, there will be an open spot close to the door for them to park in?
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

Bah - I had some chick do the same thing to me at Costco. I was loading up the trunk when she rolled down the passenger window and started in about how long I was taking. After a second, I asked her if she thought that the disabled plates on my car were for decoration and if she were in that big of a hurry, there were plenty of spaces less than ten spaces away! She called me a bitch and then peeled away.

They're simply (for some reason unknown to science) thinking that this constitutes a life or death situation and thus their fight or flight response is triggered.

now if it was trying to find parking for less than $4 in most Metropolitan areas near a downtown core....I can see it (can't count the number of times I was nearly hit by having to street park in Seattle....just to get to work....in one week....after I had to pay something in the range of $400 on a new window, tires, and heater cor for my car, plus about half that for bills....off of an $800 check....oh and don't forget gas was cloase to $5 a gallon....*smirks* yes I know not as much as other places, but damn, it added up to a very unhappy bunny...)

and people wonder why I refuse to work Seattle without any sort of employee parking.
