Open argument is good.

I think on principle you're on the right track here.

Already cleaned this thread once people, can we stay away from debatey type topics? Also arguing and personal opinions. Being a little stricter due to a) politics, and b) already on the edge of acceptability with some posts.

Count me as one who is against Prop 8 but who is also against arrogance such as what came out of this lady's mouth.

keep in mind the location... even if the SC was saying something that everyone agreed with, say he was going off about "taxes are too high" (I don't know anyone who will disagree with that statement) I'd still say it's drivel in the sense that no one goes to Carl's Jr. to hear people's political opinions... at least most of us go to Carls Jr to eat.

I respectfully disagree
She was simply pointing out to the StupidMan that what he was saying makes no sense, as historically speaking, peaceful protests have been successful (eg racial and sexual segregation). Especially since he obviously didn't think before he spoke. I am the first person to acknowledge that I should have thought about it before opening my mouth, especially after being shown how I was wrong.

She didn't just say "Well, GAYS are entitled to equal rights too, so NYAHHHHHH" and pull a Dr Evil, by shushing him whenever he tried to speak. She quietly, and logically outlined all the reasons why peaceful protests are not just "sore losers kicking up a fuss." She pulled his "reasoning" apart with surgical precision - that, to me, is a beautiful debating technique!

Add to that the dictionary meaning of drivel:

2. childish, silly, or meaningless talk or thinking; nonsense; twaddle.

I think she was spot on!
