More a sighting than anything else as she wasn;t my customer.
Yesterday i went to B&Q (Home Depot for the foreigners!!). We have been planning all sorts of work at the 3 shops we have and i had a list of everything we would possibly need to complete all the jobs over the summer.
As part of this i needed 12 sheets of wood and wanted them cutting roughly in half so they would fit in the van better and make it easier for me to work with them.
Obviously this would take a while at the cutting desk in B&Q as each cut had to be a different size.
After doing 3, a woman and her husband came to the desk and stood huffing and puffing as i handed the chap piece number 4. Her bitching got louder so I moved to one side and said "I'll be a while i think so if you'd like to get yours cut rather than wait." Just common curtesy on my part i thought.
Did I get a thank you or a nod or even an acknowledgement. No. Instead her husband had his single piece of wood sliced in half and they left. As she left she remarked "I don;t see why we should have to wait behind His Sort anyway".
Now i am very puzzled as to what My Sort is? As a middle-of-the-road, white, middle class sort of chap, I don;t really see how i can be offensive. Admittedly at weekends i sometimes wear fishnets, heels and dance the Time Warp and i will even admit to knowing how to line dance but I wasn;t doing anything like that in B&Q!
