Recently, we were under a tsumani advisory. Guy at the casino where my friend works called up their security podium and INSISTED they evacuate the casino. He was absolutely livid that the casino would stay open during a tsunami advisory and was giving casino security a lot of hell about it.
A few things wrong with his request:
1) The San Juan Islands in front of us would absorb virtually all the impact if there were a major tsunami event. However, more importantly:
2) I don't think you can even see the ocean from this casino. Maybe from some of the upper levels of the hotel. It's pretty far inland. If a tsunami were big enough to reach it, we'd have a lot bigger issues, like Armageddon, to deal with.
