While the manager is answering Grandma's question mom is standing at the other end of the counter. "Excuse me." Pause. "Excuse me." Pause. "Excuse me." Pause. "Excuse me." Pause. "Excuse me." Pause. "Excuse me." Pause. "Excuse me." The manager turns and apologizes for the wait in responding, saying that she thought that they were all one group. Mom gets a funny look on her face, replies "Oh, yes, we are," then asked her question.
HEY! HEY! LISTEN! HEY! LOOK! HEY! HEY!

Oh man, I would have loved to ask the grandma what the hell she thought peanut butter ice cream was made out of.... I don't think I could've kept a straight face or not butted in and mentioned that the fact that the word PEANUT was in the ice cream. Sadly, I bet the manager gets that question a lot.

I've had a customer ask for an icecream that tasted less 'milky', as she was allergic to milk. When I said that all of our icecream was made from milk, and that I could offer her a refund, she said she just wanted more fruit in it so it wouldn't taste like milk.

Half of customers just say they are allergic to get something. The other half are too confused about what their condition actually is to be believed anyway. Sheesh, less milk in your icecream.

Sorbet is (or can be) made without milk. I can't imagine how to make a peanut icecream without peanuts, though.

as was said, peaNUTS are not nuts, they are legumes.

I have one friend allergic to tree nuts but not peanuts, and another friend who is allergic to peanuts but not tree nuts.

I would make 2 batches of baklava, one with peanuts, then thoroughly clean the kitchen, and make one with tree nuts =)

My brother is allergic to milk (And nuts but not peanuts) but he can have yogurt, or maybe certain kinds of yogurt. I remember him getting some sort of frozen yogurt instead of ice cream as a kid.

To REALLY confuse things, in Japan, they make Soft Cream with Soy as the base, so most people can enjoy it. I can say from experience it is AMAZINGLY creamy.

In the US, sorbet has no dairy in it at all, sherbet has some. But being that "cream" is in the name, all ice cream has dairy in it. And gelato.

Mmmmm, gelato. I think I still have some homemade coconut gelato in the feezer....and seeing as it actually, finally, got up to 90F today.... Excuse me please!
