migraines can also be a side effect of pre-menopause
Doubt that's the case for me, I've had them since I was something like 12.

I do know some people can get migraines from stopping their caffeine habit. I used to, but now it's just developed into a sensitivity to it. Even some decaf coffees can make me feel crappy (cause some decafs still have some caffeine in them, some more than others)

o yes. i can understand that completely.

my sister is very sensitive to caffeine. sometimes i wonder how we're related since i've consumed coffee that I call "OMG what the hell is that?"

on top of that... she has the other condition now too, so even decaf bothers her.

and when mom was in the hospital last (for an operation), although she wasn't in for a cardiac condition they had her on the cardiac floor which was pretty much a "no coffee of any kind" floor. she herself was on a no-coffee order until she finally had permission from the doctor to have decaf.

then she regretted it because she could feel the effects of it.

read a study where they said 10 cups of decaf could equal the amount in 1-2 cups of coffee
and if you're like me and make it strong it'll prolly be more like 3-4 cups >

I did however learn a nifty way to decaf something yourself. If you steep your own tea, let it steep for 30 seconds, then remove the tea and dump out the liquid. Most of the caffeine will be removed with the liquid in those 30 seconds. Then fill the cup back up and continue steeping. I don't think it's as effective as the commercial ways of decaffeinating, but it gets rid of a lot of it.
I believe that it's just as effective. The trick with the commercial decaffeinating processes is that they add in all the other goodies that you lost from the leaves. Of course, the Carbon Dioxide and even nastier methods might be more effective, but really, do you want to drink tea that was decaffeinated using anything other than the water method? I can't even find the other kinds normally, however I do shop at a fairly good tea store.

And you forgot Oolong in your caffeine listing . I'm assuming that it's got similar caffeine to Japanese style green teas, since it's brewed at a similar temperature?

cos people like that manager are the ones who shouldn't be allowed outside, not if they can't keep their mouths shut.

Quoted for truthiness. Also the ex-manager in this story would absolutely hate me. I can't have anything that is excessively laden with onions and garlic. With onions, I get a sore throat and puffy eyes and all that. With garlic, if I eat too much of it, I get really bad headaches.

Yep, Oolong is between a green and a black tea so it contains a bit more caffeine than your typical green would have. Not a really noticeable difference though.
