As usual, excellent pwnage of the "diabetic" loudmouth, and the old biddy who was *stunned* to get back what she gave.

I know too, that dogs are able to smell chemical changes that we can't. I saw a news story recently about a family that has a dog that sleeps with the son, who has diabetes, at night and goes and alerts the parents if the kid's blood sugar starts going wonky.
    That's awesome.
Granted not a service animal, but here's a heartwarming story of a tiger named Keetah who "talked" a paraplegic out of suicide.

i have an insane 4yo maltese shitzu. she absolutely adores my daughter and daughter loves her too.

at night the dog runs to daughters bedroom door and whines if she can hear any slight noises or crying. dog has alerted me to daughters epileptic fits a few times.

(i would never recommend anyone who is short on patience or teetering on the edge of sanity (like myself) to get a maltese shitzu because they really will push you completely over the edge into insanity. theyre able to learn things like pooping and peeing outside but sometimes when its too cold they really do think you wont mind if they use the laundry floor/bathroom floor/carpet)

Wow. That's a beautiful story. I've got tears in my eyes.

Animals are far more intelligent and sensitive than we give them credit for. I do not doubt that there are many individual animals even amongst the wild ones with near-human intelligence and compassion.

Reminds me of this quote from James Herriott: "If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans."

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Eh i just posted about this in the lupo thread, but it counts here.

Sully (my orange cat) never sleeps in my bed since I got Nermal. Nermal will lay with me until I fall asleep and stop petting her, then she sleeps at the end of the bed. I was really, really upset this morning when I fell asleep. I woke up in the afternoon and both cats were laying next to my side in bed.

she's a diabetic of convenience. She goes on and on about her diabetes and how she can only eat certain things, then later eats an entire box of Turtles.
Ah, that would be my dad. I always know when he's had a bad doctor's report (he does have Type II diabetes), because he comes home and immediately nitpicks me for something I'm eating (which more often than not isn't nearly as bad as the shit he stuffs his face with). I'm just like, fuck it, I'm going to enjoy my snack and if he doesn't like it, tough shit.
