This! If someone is nice to me when complaining I will give them a ton of free food. If they are a jerk they get the bare minimum to make them go away. If they are a really big jerk they get nothing with a suggestion to wait until the morning and talk to my boss. If they are a super big jerk they get escorted out by the police.

Actually, that's not the sign for people who throw the "sign of the customer". The proper sign is a 2-hand gesture - in addition to the thumb and index finger of the right hand being in the position showing, the middle finger of the right hand is extended straight forward, then you make a circle with the thumb and index finger of the left hand and move that in and out around the middle finger of the right hand. The meaning of this gesture: 3-D f***ing loser.
