Nice. There used to be a diner on rt84 here in CT that had a ton of books, and you could bring in books and trade for other books.
My local rail station has a book shelf for frequent travellers to borrow from & swap. Totally honour system & its apparently well used and appreciated. I keep meaning to take a couple to add when I travel.

I had a joke with an older guy at the gym the other week, he'd previously asked about my kindle that I was reading in the juice bar, the next time I saw him he waved a paper back at me & said "I'm still going old school!"
My reply was, yeah, but I bet you haven't got your entire library with you like I have

I'm on book 3 in the Dresden Series!.
Oh, yeah! That reminds me that I need to get my pre-order for the next book in through Amazon, tonight. Waiting since the end of Changes has been tough.

    ^-.-^

I usually have 3-4 books on me. Mainly mysteries and Sci-fi. I read too fast to have fewer. Around 300 pages an hour (small print). And the DS in case it's a really long wait (like at the VA when appts never happen on time) and I finish all the books.

I've not been on such a long trip that I've needed that many.

I'm also a bit old fasioned. I like to flip pages and whatnot. Plus, nothing shows off your collection like a roomful of bookshelves. I also act as a bit of a lending library for my friends who like the same sorts of things to read. I'm not willing to lend out my laptop so I can hook introduce more people to the Dresden series.
I actually had a co worker ask what I do with my books after I'm done reading them. My response was that I keep them and re read them occasionally.

Sort of related.. this past February my fiancee and I went on a trip to DisneyWorld leaving from Pittsburgh. We got there early enough and boarded on time. After 10 minutes one of the flight attendants starts asking, "Is there a Paige Johnson here on board? Anyone??", and nobody answered. A few minutes later a young woman, clearly not in a flight attendant's uniform comes on board. Only the two of us among all the boarded passengers smiled at her and said, "Hi, Paige!". She passed us by to get to her seat but had that "WTF?" look on her face

Is that ebooks? And I though I had a lot at 111. It's up from previous post because I downloaded 32 of the Discworld books, and some others, last night from ePrint Studio.

Say, you ever going to be in the UK? I think we may just be kindred spirits

I still rather miss a pub back where I used to live, where they renovated & made one end into a "library" section, with floor to ceiling bookshelves, leather-covered smoking chairs, & a mezzanine so that you could reach the books near the top. They weren't "show" books either - they bulk-ordered from local second hand shops, & they didn't really mind you wandering off with books, so long as you left on in its place. Needless to say, I always used that pub as the meeting point when I was meeting mates in town, & I'd always suggest a time that was at least half an hour after my bus dropped off outside, so that I'd have time to work my way through a cup of tea & a blueberry muffin

    Nope.

    Some of us carry two.

And a Gamboy or PSP. Might finish one, you know.

If I don't have a book there are bookstores in just about every airport and they have best sellers.
Mitchell Field has a used bookstore.

You mean not everyone carries a book around with them for those odd 5 minutes when they're stuck in a queue?
Not anymore. I now have Kindle, Nook, Google and other book apps (with about 60 titles, all free ) on my smart phone. Now if I could only stop playing the game apps long enough to use them. Although I do carry along a real book if I know it's going to be a long wait.

Not anymore. I like to go minimalist on what I carry, so I don't even have a purse with me unless I'm wearing my maternity pants that don't have pockets. But if I know there's even the slightest chance of waiting longer than, say, fifteen minutes for something, I'll most likely bring something to occupy me.
