Another "I Don't Work Here" Situation

I was in Home Depot near my work, to get something for work actually, in my uniform.

We all know that Home Depot employees wear orange aprons. Now I was wearing my blue uniform shift and beige pants, name tag on. A lady stops me and asks "Where are your curtains?" I look at her and say "I don't work here." She just stares at me like I am lying to her. I again say I don't work there and point to the logo on my shirt. She still looks at me like I am the crazy one. I just then decide that she wasn't getting it and I just walked away.

Thinking back I should have just answered "My curtains are hanging in my bedroom" and walked away.

It seems no matter where members of CS go the general public just assume we work at the store we are shopping in at the time.

I suspect I'm cursing myself, but so far, noone has done that to me.

I don't carry one unfortunately. I end up leaving those places too which is why my wallet is usually in my back pocket (my phone is in my other back pocket because I can sit on it without breaking it.)

I'm the same way. When I have one, I like to keep my keys clipped to a front belt loop and tucked into my pocket. But I can't seem to keep track of clippy keychains, either.
