I've heard great things about the script. I'm gonna catch it in a couple weeks. Good friend of mine is directing a local run of it here in Denver. All I can tell you is that if anybody acted in my theatre like that woman acted I wouldn't hesitate to kick her out. I can't stand people who go to plays only to ruin the experience for everyone. It's worse than at movies since it can take even the actors out of the moment.
The actors were pros (not surprising, since they all actually were professionals), and the play went off without a hitch.

Except for when one of the actors almost tripped on her enormous dress.

Thankfully, a lot of the time, the annoying woman next to us was drowned out by the rest of the audience's laughter.

At least it wasn't Puppetry Of The Penis! (VERRRY NSFW)
OK, when I clicked on that link I swear my face spontaneously went and stayed that way for five whole minutes.

I lead a sheltered life *sigh*

I am, in fact, in North Carolina. Where is this "Casey's BBQ" of which you speak?

True, but we can't have everything we want in life... Sigh...

        Put your arms around me,

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we were both dealing with the same woman. I'm just a few hundred miles west of you by way of I-40, up in the clouds in Asheville.

Bring your family, especially your kids. There's plenty of theater that's fine for kids, especially once they're over 10 and can handle sitting still for 2 hours. And then they'll grow up knowing that theater isn't all snooty and hard to understand, and there's more out there than Tyler Perry movies.
In our community we have four different theatre programs that are aimed specifically at young people. The one theatre has two programs, one for kids from age 6 - 16 and one for kids from 6th - 12th grades. The kids program runs from late May until early August and puts on a kid friendly musical. The program for the older kids runs from September until December and they put on a teen friendly staight play. The other theatre runs a theatre training program for kids from 4th - 9th grades that begins in September and runs through March that puts on a major musical each year. The newest program in the area is a co-op between the two theatres and the three colleges in the area that is for kids from 8th grade thru college that runs from April until July and they also do a major musical. This program also gives college credits for being involved to the college kids.

There was a woman who used to ride my bus. After one trip sitting a couple of rows away, I found out why none of the regulars would sit near her. The phrase "swamp ass" was invented just for her. I'm serious. There was an almost continual stench of rotted matter and dirty, slimy water that surrounded her. Literally, she smelled like the deepest, rottenest piece of muck, so bad even the gators avoided it.
