Not to mention the nearest Whole Foods is 70 miles away.

Which then leads us to government regulations, which leads to fracting.

The point I was trying to make earlier is that MY OWN dietary needs conflict with each other.

As IPF said, if you don't like what this store offers, shop someplace that offers what you want. Although, I am betting, they shop at Food Lady's place because they don't want to pay the price of a Whole Foods. They want healthy and they want it cheap.
my point was more about the SC really... cos the SC was trying to dictate to the store what they should and shouldn't carry. instead of ... not buying what she/he didn't want. and yeah... there are people out there - we see them all the time at PFB/M3C - who can't figure out "well don't buy it then" etc.

cos just because *they* feel it's junk doesn't mean it shouldn't be sold.

OMGWTF911BBQ! What a horrible business model your company has implemented. Catering to the majority? It's ludicrous, it's devious, it's...

        Oh. Wait.

Looked up "majority" and apparently I'm an idiot. Seems pretty sensible now.

egads, you mean they went into business to make a profit. What rubbish is this?

I'm one of those who think "organic" is junk, so I appreciate you having the non-organic meats and veggies.
It really is. Organic doesn't mean fertilizer and pesticide free, it just means that they have a very limited list of fertilizers and pesticides to choose from, some of the modern synthetics actually are less harmful than the "natural" ones that they use for organic food. Though, I guess ultimately it comes down to personal preference and choice (though it actually kind of doesn't, we do need people not choosing organic, because as Penn and Teller very eloquently point out on their show, a 100% switch to organic farming would mean that nearly 2 billion people would starve... I can wash my apples to get rid of chemicals if it means 2 billion people not starving).

If they mean because those people couldn't afford it, then I would be in trouble. I really have to stretch my budget. As it is, I can't afford to shop my own store for food, even with employee discount.

No, they mean that with the increased labor and time required for producing organics, farm productivity would go down so much that only enough food for between 4 and 5 billion people could be grown world wide (assuming there isn't a massive increase in the amount of farm land being used), which is a problem with 7 billion people on the planet. It's funny, at least within the people I know, the ones who keep saying we don't have to worry about overpopulation, science will find a way to help, are also the first ones to reject the scientific advances in food production that will and do help.

North Carolina. I imagine Fudruckers should have the same menu everywhere, being a national chain. The pizza place is called The Pie Works, but I'm not certain if it's a local thing.
The only Fudruckers in Canada is in Saskatchewan, and Pie Works seems to be US-only.

As much as I love Cape Breton, I gotta say sometimes it seems like we're Canada's armpit or something. Except for those chain stores and restaurants that are found everywhere, we've got nothing. And grocery store food selection is painfully un-exotic.

Hmmm, I have plenty of squirrels in my yard I can send the survey writer; it's about as free range as you get!
And if you send the survey writer LIVE squirrels, you'll never hear from them again. After all, you know what squirrels eat.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

I've only seen it in Buffalo and Virginia Beach. (and the college students in buffalo were calling it Rud... ahem)

BoutiqueGrocery, where I once worked, carries a number of "exotic" meats (at prices to suit, of course) -- even after 20 years+, they're more or less the only place in town where you can walk in and ask for buffalo, ostrich, Wagyu beef, and the like, and know they'll always have a fair amount on hand, should those be your thing

I've had 'roo in Sydney! Can't remember what it tasted like though... it wasn't bad IIRC.

course i've also had camel, shark (wasn't that good - but it was cooked at my old college), and reindeer.

Been a while, but they could probably get it. They have earned a reputation over time for being able to get "nonstandard" imported foods in when other stores either won't or can't, provided that the customer is willing to pay for it.
