LOL We always called those types the "hares." As in, "the tortoise and the hare." The idea being, that the hare will get the cops attention, and will be more likely to get busted. By the time you see the cop, you'll have had enough time to slow down, and "blend in" with traffic.Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines. --Enzo Ferrari

They're called "rabbits" in this neck of the woods. Referring to the rabbit used in dog racing (which is likely where your "hare" reference comes from).Quoth protege View PostLOL We always called those types the "hares." A note on slowing down: Don't slow too quickly. They can see the dip in your front end, and if it dips enough, they'll cite you for how fast you were going before they pulled you over. Probably not entirely kosher, but good luck fighting it.

Saw one get pulled over yesterday. The car ahead of me tapped his brakes, I was going just over the limit, about 68 in a 65 so I wasn't worried, but apparently the guy back behind me didn't see him. As he got closer to the u-turn where the cop was sitting, the cop hit the lights, and the chase was on. The cop had to wait for a clear spot to pull out, meanwhile the speeder tried to get out of sight by taking the next exit. No luck, the cop saw him go there. Pulled him over at the end of the ramp.

I imagine the officer wasn't too pleased at that part, either.Quoth Jack7957 View PostThe cop had to wait for a clear spot to pull out, meanwhile the speeder tried to get out of sight by taking the next exit. No luck, the cop saw him go there. Pulled him over at the end of the ramp.
If nothing else applies (dunno either way), that's a quick way to get hit with "contempt of cop". (May not be an official law, but apply the "looks/walks/quacks like a duck" principle...)No matter how low my opinion of humanity as a whole gets, there are always over-achievers who seek to surpass my expectations.

Somehow I think such a bumper sticker would have the opposite of its intended effectQuoth McGoddess09 View Post...wishing that I was able to get that bumper sticker that stated "If you're going to ride my ass, at least pull my hair!"

A pack speeding down the hiway passes an officer who gives chase with lights and sirens.
Who gets the ticket? The one in front? The one in the rear? The one weaving back and forth?
