In Britain, roundabouts are either double-lane and big enough to be navigated by large vehicles, or they are "mini" versions with only a big white blob of paint marking the centre. Obviously large vehicles can just drive across the paint if necessary.
There is one exception - the "Magic Roundabout" somewhere near London, which is a backwards roundabout made up of five minis. Based on both the name and the design, I think somebody was smoking something interesting.
