    wierd abilities

    Quoth Kusanagi View Post
I have the ability to sense electronic devices, especially some of the older ones. Like, even if the volume is muted completely on a TV anywhere in the house, I can tell if it's on. Same with a computer monitor or anything with a CRT.
Interesting... I can 'hear' electronic devices, too, but I never considered it to be psychic, just a range of hearing that most people don't posess. You're only the second other person besides me I've heard of having the ability. In high school, we had TVs in all the classrooms to watch "Chanel One" in the mornings. As the time for it, of course, everyone would get restless, asking, 'is it on yet? maybe the TV is switched off.' In due course, I'd hear this 'ping! whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine' that no one else could hear. I'd calmly announce, "It's on". Heads would swivle to the TV and sure enough, half a second later the green 'on' light would come on. They never did really accept my explination of 'I can hear it'.
It wasn't always good, though. Thankfully, most modern electronics are a lot quieter than old ones (maybe they're better shielded?) Once in a hotel on a school trip, someone turned on the TV. I immediatly clapped my hands over my ears and shouted for them to turn it off, it was too loud! Two of them looked at me like I was a lunatic, because neither picture nor sound had come on yet. Thankfully, the third had roomed with me before and knew about it, so she turned it off. I had a headache for hours afterwards! I can imagine you passing out with 50 iMacs, just that one TV nearly put me on the floor.

I've come across a few sociopaths in my life who if they wanted to could take on abuse for hours without losing their cool because no matter what happened, feelings of anger, embarrassment, guilt or shame were foreign things to them.
That doesn't seem right to me. Ted Bundy was a text book sociopath, and he was the poster boy for misogynistic anger.

No shame, though. You may well be right about that one.

If you have to ask, it's probably better posted at www.fratching.com

Yeah, ted bundy was more of a psychopath than a sociopath. Most sociopaths don't have violent tendencies associated with them, just the inability to express and feel normal human emotion.

When they show emotion, it's not a natural reaction, it's a copied gesture they learn by watching others and mimicking their facial expressions. If you ever have a group of people standing around and something shocking happens, watch everyone's face. If you see someone take longer to react than everyone else it's probably either (a) a delayed reaction due to tiredness or just being lost in their thoughts, or (b) their nervous system doesn't function the way a normal person's does. If it's b, the first thing they'll do is look around the group to see everyone's face and how they're reacting. Only then will they show expression because until that point they don't know which reaction to show in order to fit in. It's not proof that they're a sociopath, but it's a clue that there may be something wrong there. Of course with time and practice, they get better at knowing which emotion to show and how much of it to show to a particular event. But their reaction time will always be slower because they don't get the rush of adrenaline to make them react like you or I do.

Creepy, creepy SC. She definitely needs a total banning, for her antics alone at least.

I don't know how much stock I put in paranormal stuff; I'm mostly skeptic by nature and have never had any standout experiences, so I just ignore the majority of it, I guess. I do think that those who announce themselves the loudest (TV show hosts, for example) are the phoniest, as I'm told that real power-imbued folk seek to conceal themselves rather than reveal their abilities.

I do know several people who claim to have had extra-sensory experiences. One of my friends was house-shopping some years back and found a house that seemed all right at first, till she and her sister went upstairs. They both picked up a very malevolent feeling right away, and, needless to say, didn't buy that house. They later found out that a murder had taken place on the second floor.

My sister-in-law believes that a town not far from where she lives is haunted, as she says she's experienced feelings of dread and despair every time she goes there.

As for me, I DID have a very creepy dream recently. The night before the Virginia Tech shootings happened, I dreamed that I was in a building, in an office-type place that was fairly big, and there was gunfire going on. I could hear the pop-pop-pop-pop going on, and was vaguely aware of myself and people dodging. Weird thing is that I was worried, but wasn't really scared - yet - but the dream was starting to get scary so my brain changed it over to something involving anime, and the gunfire stopped. (On some occasions, I've noticed that I have a weird ability to consciously change my dreamscape if a dream is becoming too spooky for my liking, or further a dream in its advances if it's a good one.) Initially, I figured it was a very creepy dream, but thought little of it after I banished it from memory (I occasionally get weird freaky dreams like that, so it wasn't remarkable...at first).

Next day after I got home late from work, I heard about VT, and was reminded of that dream. I DON'T consider myself esp-ish or whatever it is, not by any stretch of imagination, so I found that to be disturbing to say the least.

They've also observed that if you take a swab of the inside of a person's cheek to collect a cell sample, then remove that sample to a room separate from the person, then introduce a moderate level of pain stimulus to the person, the cells that were swabbed out will also react to the pain stimulus.

Anyway, the lady would park in the same spot every week. If a car occupied that particular space when she arrived, she would wait for that person to leave so she could have that spot, for as long as it took. We timed her one morning, and she sat there for a good 37 minutes waiting for the couple already parked there to leave.
If I worked there, that would have become my usual parking spot while working.

                OCD Body Language or aura

Having worked security type jobs for years.

The first hint with her problems is monotone. I bet she gave off no normal body language clues either. I took some abnormal psych classes in college as well.
This is why you are not comfortable. You cannot read her body language, or it is the same as danger signals you have seen before. Some folks do the real quiet still bit before they explode with violence, and you are waiting for that to happen to you.
I have gotten good with reading the body signals of dangerous people over the years, and have learned how to deal with them. I love accidentally crowding their comfort zone, and touching them. It drives them crazy. Why one would do this?
Well I know something stupid is going to happen, and after making sure things are place to deal with it, I then make it happen on my terms. I use the same voice I use with children, and scared people on them, while doing my best to radiate love, and caring concern. Hard to complain about me being so nice to you. If they flipped instead of leaving, this is why I would have 4 other large guys standing nearby, hanging out quietly in the background. Also working for small companies, that I was allowed to do whatever I deemed necessary to deal with any situation helped. One of the places we kept a book of shame full of polaroid photos of those banned, and that was fun sometimes.
I had all sorts of pictures of people being arrested in that book.

I can also turn on the same evil projection as her, and tone it to the feeling of I will do more to you then just steal your energy. All but the most severe local crazies would notice it, and we would have much less trouble with them then the other businesses. I didn't have to touch them, just radiate instant menace, and they always got out. I am guessing she has OCD, and is some form if sociopath. I used to feel sorry for them, until I got hit in the head at random by one. Now I just sigh, and get it over with. Filling out the reports was always a pain. She is most likely not evil, but more on the truly amoral side. To her it is not good or evil, its about her desires being fulfilled.

This is one of the reasons I deliver pizza instead. Yeah I know its just as dangerous, but I can pass up any delivery that looks to weird to me, and not have to deal with them at all. Every time I get conned to into working front door security for something I realize I do not miss it much. I loved the fact that we defended our right to not let anyone in that we did not want in the business. Too drunk, too stupid, looking to steal or start trouble? Just move along. Want to argue? Good go across the street and talk to the cops who bring me most wanted sheets every week. I am sure they will take your side. Wearing that used roach clip on your gang sign hat will make them love to talk to you for a while. Hope you are not wanted.

I wear a silver chain with a (silver)wire-wrapped hematite stone on it. I also wear a Chinese chi-coin (yang side up, ALWAYS) on the pendant above the stone, since both were gifts from very close friends. I've since found out that hematite provides a lot of natural grounding and defuses negative energy extremely well, and the coins are used for luck and protection against harm. It's cross-discipline, but it seems to work VERY well for me in stopping the malaise I pick up when I'm in an area that's full of bad vibes from affecting me. Something similar might work just as well for you.

I've known some people who have gotten physically ill upon coming into contact with hematite. One girl would break into hives and just puff up like a fish...or just get dizzy/weak.

It made me laugh as I never really like her.

She always tried to get a rise out of me and got annoyed when it didn't work.... then she had the gall to try and turn mutual friends against me. what a sad, pathetic little person she was/is.

I've got an old television in my room that whines very loudly as well, but of course when I turn that one on the lights dim and it makes a loud "poof" noise.

I definitely do not have strange powers, and by reading these posts I think that makes me a minority on this board . . . ,

I always thought I was a little crazy for being able to hear the really low/high pitches.

Then again, I have to account that to my car accident-- I ended up rupturing my left ear drum just enough that I pick up weird frequencies. Like, I can have people talking right into my left ear with a regular pitch and I won't hear it, but if they're across the room, whispering my name I'll be all like, "What now?"

And the only television I can't stand is this old set my dad has in the garage. Its one of those that are like 42 inches and mot of it is made of a wooden frame...I always said that if we could make it play a loop of a burning log it'd be the perfect chimney for their tiny little apartment.

Failing that, and something you can do without spooking customers/co-workers, brew up a cup of tea, in some tolerable, clean smell (I like to use lemon or lavendar, but even plain old Lipton's works). Drink it and hold the last mouthful in your mouth, then walk around and blow out so the smell and the steam comes out.
That's a good idea. You could even simply walk around the whole shop carrying the cup of tea. The fragrance and vapour from the tea would do the trick.

                          2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
                          3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
                          4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Yeah, we've got a lady around here that's like that too, a little. We call her " The Barn Lady" because her husband makes her sleep out in a trailer in ther barn. She's legally not allowed any where near the public school and our school is attempting to get a restraining order on her for the school, because she'll randomly come in during class and say "you are all god's children. He loves us all." and will try to hug us. She does it in church as well, but they aren't legally able to ban her from church. She creeps everyone out and there are many stories about her origins around her. All you have to say around here is barn lady and people will react.
There's another guy that comes into our resturant sometimes that's a tad bit creepy, but he tips good. I'm slightly sensitive, not to auras, but kind of people's thoughts. LIke, if i look at them, i can almost hear what they're thinking. I can also read palms and his was fine. He's really nice to me and my friend when we serve him, but our cooks are terrified of him. I kinda feel bad for him. He seems alone and hated. Thankfully, he doesn't complain and he tips very well.
Just because they serve you, doesn't mean they like you. And just because they smile and act polite doesn't mean they aren't planning to destroy you.

I'm another one that can hear electronics noises. I have to turn my computer off before I go to bed, especially the speakers, or I have trouble sleeping. I can also hear low frequencies, but it's more feeling it than hearing it in that case.

Back on topic, we have a woman who frequents our store that tends to set the cashiers and managers on edge. The first time someone pointed her out to me, I got a bit of a feeling of "Hmm, something's odd here...", but it went away. I can deal with her just fine, but it's mostly because whenever I recognize her I just focus on keeping positive no matter what she says or demands. (She's one of those SCs that comes in looking for a fight, and sometimes has 3-4 kids underfoot while doing so. And she ALWAYS finds something to be picky about.) Unfortunately, she tends to get shifted to me when things need to get fixed because no one else at the service desk can stand her.
