I didn't thing St. Patrick's Day was about being Irish; I thought it was an excuse to drink heavily on a weekday?
I don't qualify for any pride parade or heritage fest, unless they had one for "Pure American Mutt." I have a Hispanic last name and mostly Italian blood, yet also dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and a notably pale complexion. Or I could look at it the other way and say I probably qualify for ALL of the heritage-fests, barring African American and, I think, French. But more to the point, I'm in the party that doesn't understand the need for parades and such, but that's probably because of my straight white female status.
On the other topic, wow, who did that guy think he was going to win over by citing Hitler as his role model? Was he shaven bald and wearing camo pants and combat boots? Sounds like a Neo-Nazi. Y'know, it must take a lot of energy to be that angry all the time.
