I feel for ya, Kus, I really do, and I hope there's no more tragedy out your way than has already happened.

I've heard that hopeless voice before, seen that look... hell, HAD that look... and to compare that kind of complete, utter, soul-scarring despair to the ing INCONVENIENCE of having to wait for a furniture delivery... that just makes my blood boil.

Anyone who would throw a snit-fit in a situation like that is less than a human being. They're a soul-blackened monster, and I sincerely wish that they get EXACTLY what they deserve for their callous heartlessness, and very soon.

im also in san diego, and it was hard for all of us and to see how these people acted i might have done the same thing.

i was evacuated (north county on the edge of the witch fire) as well as the place that i work, which is the north county westfeild shopping center so it was right across the street from our store.

there have been so many stories that i have heard that were heartwarming, and then the people come out who just cant seem to understand the situation, and then the scammers.

2 of my co workers (who work in the same area as i do lost their homes, but thankfully all of them are safe as well as the rest of my family and friends and at this point that is all that matters.

on sunday i had it happen that when the fires started one of the guys who lost his home (and on the first day no less) left to evacuate his home, he came back to work because there was nothing else he could really do. about that time i had a customer who came in who had pre ordered a tire, and wanted to install it. he says to me you know there is a fire in poway right. i replied that i did and that one of our mechanics had to evacuate his home.

he went sheet white and started to get figity. well can you do the tire in 5 mins so i can get home to clear out my home.

at this point i said to him, look if its between a tire and your family and home go to your family and home, the tire will still be here, you paid for it we will not sell it and if by chance we do loose our store, we will get you another tire some how.

he ran off and i havent seen him since, i hope that he is ok.

Not that this situation is anything near as terrible as the fires in your area...but when the tornado sirens go off here, they pull all the tow trucks off the road. You are supposed to find shelter...quickly. On more than one occasion a driver showed up late to a call with an irate member who would not understand why the driver did not risk their life to out run a tornado or wall cloud to come and tow their car.

Similiar shit also happens in the winter time. When we are buried in snow, we get buried in calls. I mean literally 100s of calls. But you get to some of these people and they act as if they are the ONLY ones that need help and how dare we do anything but jump immediately!

My coworker was there, and saw this whole incident with her jaw on the floor. She saw how upset I was and broke the moment with “You know, I really wish I didn’t have a boyfriend. I am so hot for you right now.”

Well, you're going to have some spare furniture hanging around that's going to need breaking in, so...

I hope that these people realize later what asses they were being and apologize to you. Doubtful, and perhaps not enough for what they did and said, but they should, at least, apologize to you.

But you are so AWESOME in the way you handled those customers, especially the last one. You should be given a medal for not engaging in fisticuffs. They all deserved an ear bashing and worse.

Oh man, I was hoping that wasn't going to happen but deep down I knew it would. Stupid really is the most dense material known to man.

If anyone ever came to me and said

I'd be hard pressed not to deck them right then and there, regardless of the circumstances.

It's bad enough when we had a tornado hit and had to explain to people why their cable went out ("but it didn't storm heeeeeeeeeeeeere" was a common refrain) I can even imagine keeping my cool in the face of such callous, self important douchebaggery.
