I'd advocate compulsory sterilisation but it's already too late seeing as Mommy Dearest has already spawned. -.- That kid is going to end up getting the beating of a lifetime one day, either in jail or after he pisses off someone bigger and stronger than him, and learns that what his mother has taught him doesn't work in real life. As for the mother, I hope she at least was hit with a caution for leaving the accident scene.

I wonder if Pwecious has seen Sperm donor hit Mom, and has otherwise absorbed the lesson that women are fine to have around to feed and clothe and transport you and buy you things, but a woman's wishes are generally not worth considering.

I'm not a raging feminist, either. But one day I saw something on TV that just made me cringe. A woman was being filmed as she checked into a safe house to escape domestic abuse. As she answered questions and filled out forms, her very small little boy (I'm guessing 3 or 4) balled his hand into a fist and hit her with it...slow motion, didn't hurt her, but he learned to do that, somehow.

In a perfect world, that woman would be charged with:

1. Child negligence.
2. Reckless endangerment.
3. Property damage.
4. Leaving the scene of an accident.

Okay, color me clueless, but no. 1. and 2. don't really ring true with me. 3. and 4., no question, sure. But how is that child negligence and reckless endangerment? She didn't drop him off at the store for hours, or leave him outside in the street. The kid suddenly took off and ran out of the store and into the street before either adult could stop him. By this logic, any parent taking a walk with their kid would be guilty of negligence if their kid suddenly decided to take off running into traffic.

Now, how many of the parents on here would feel that to be justified? Sure, her reactions to the kid's wreaking of havoc showed a distinct lack of parenting skills, but that's hardly negligent.

As for liability: after German law, she'd actually be off the hook, since the first driver managed to stop in time. The 2nd driver is at fault, since you are required to be able to stop without warning, at any time. Sucks, but so's the law.

I'd be very surprised if the police don't pay that woman a visit for, as Jester pointed out, leaving the scene of an accident. One that she, indirectly, CAUSED. Kusanagi's company has no say there; she broke the law, and for that, the police can go after her, and I certainly hope they do.

When I was in kindergarten, I ran out into the street and forced a car to slam on its brakes to avoid hitting me. I got a good spanking when I got home and several lectures about looking both ways before crossing the street.

The kid may not have gotten himself injured this time, and mommy dearest may have wormed out of paying for her kid's destruction at Kusanagi's store, but someday one or both of the aforementioned is bound to happen.

The child was behaving badly, but unless a child is taught how to behave properly, how is he to know any better?

The mother is obviously a twit who hasn't bothered to discipline her child ( and that doesn't need to involve beating a child black and blue), but to wish harm on a small child just to teach them a lesson seems a bit extreme.

Wow, Kus...... You seem to have horrible luck with the worst customers. I've had some rotten customers, and they don't even compare. I remember reading about the Ghetto Superstar story, for sure. Sounds like you're about due for some down time.

My parents would never have condoned that kind of behavior from my sister or me. We would have been beaten black and blue, and grounded for the rest of eternity. When they grounded us, it meant that we only left the house to go to school or with them when they had to leave the house, and solitary confinement to our rooms with no TV, radio, or other fun stuff unless we were doing chores, eating, or something necessary. They were strict, but fair, and we turned out okay for it all. I guess that's why weakling parents grate on my nerves when they don't discipline their children for misbehavior. I don't have kids of my own yet, but I was not raised like a heathen. I almost feel like the parents should be disciplined alongside their children for failing to correct their children.

Yet we still don't have any sort of mandatory spaying/neutering and/or some sort of chastity belt/tube ( Gender equality! ) that can only be removed upon reaching 18 years of age and successfully passing a written exam / workshop. ;p

I'm not sure how the mechanics of the chastity tube would work to compensate for different fluid types. Perhaps we could simply have it inflict an electrical shock if it comes within a few inches of the chastity belt.

I was merely speculating about corporate's reasoning behind it, they never contacted me about the issue with the table in question, just mentioned that it had been dropped in a company wide email.

I don't think the insurance company would need to contact me, everything was in the police report.

As far as being hit with crazies, I deal with several SC's daily but I just roll with the punches. It's when something truly extraordinary happens to me that just makes my brain stop.

After the hundredth customer bitches about the same issue it just doesn't affect you any more.

I think the only truly crazy things I've dealt with, looking back, that were endangering were Ghetto, having the couch fall on me, and just now this. Everything else is pretty much par for the course in commissioned sales where you sell items for thousands of dollars.

I should tell you guys some of the stories our delivery drivers have told me. Wow.

I hope that woman is in jail and that child has been committed to a psych ward.
